GOOD MOOD
By New10
X
Two books that are greater than the Bible and will do more for your mental
health.
The one who had the most influence on me was Albert Ellis. I read
everything
he wrote and heard most of his lectures.
I read a book Good Mood, I can't find my copy, I think I gave it to a
client
and I don't remember the author's name. The author was an mathematician
who
had spent many years with depression. He was contemplating suicide, but
before he did, he had heard about Albert Ellis and Rational Emotive
Therapy
and wanted to learn about it before he took his life. What he discovered
about his depression was that he was not in a place in life were he
thought
he "should" be. Ellis wrote a book "How to Stop Making Yourself Miserable
About Anything yes Anything" The core of the book was based on philosophy.
And the philosophy was this; "What disturbs people's minds is not the
event
but the judgment of the events"
-------Epictetus, 500 B.C. Stoic philosopher
And his depression left him. And he wrote Good Mood
And he might have been bipolar.
