GOP Energy Bill Includes Subsidy to Hooters, In the Name of 'National Security' |
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2003/11/21/ENERGY.TMP
"$227 million in taxpayer-financing for "green" bonds to build or
renovate four shopping malls, including a riverfront development in
Shreveport, La., featuring a 14-screen theater and a Hooter's
restaurant."
And who put that provision in? Your small-government GOP Congressman
Billy Tauzin. But at least they cut medicall benefits for our
veterans.

Actually, the invokation of
Billy "For Sale to the Highest Bidder" Tauzin
should immediately ring bells of funereal music.
"For Sale Billy" (R-Louisiana) was always in a
heated contest with former Rep. James
Traficant (D-Ohio) and now that Traficant
is wearing the number of his beast,
"For Sale Billy" seems to hold the crown.

The bill is being called the "Hooters and Polluters Act."
