Grand jury indicts Klaudt on 4 counts of 2nd-degree rape

PIERRE - Ted Klaudt of Walker in northwestern South Dakota, the former
state representative accused of abusing his foster children and others,
was indicted by a Hughes County grand jury on four counts of
second-degree rape, court papers made public Friday show.
Three of the counts involved one foster daughter and are alleged to have
occurred in January, February or March of 2005 and again in January
2006. The other, involving a second foster daughter, is alleged to have
occurred in February 2006, the court filings show.
Prosecutors maintain the alleged crimes happened in Pierre while Klaudt
served as a lawmaker. The two foster daughters testified before the
grand jury.
Klaudt's arraignment in Hughes County is scheduled for July 6. He's free
on a $100,000 bond.
Klaudt faces 10 other charges in Corson County, including four more
charges of second-degree rape. While awaiting court appearances, Klaudt
can have no contact with the girls.

donate their eggs to make money, Attorney General Larry Long has said.
