Gov. Bush wants probe of Schiavo collapse |
TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AP) -- Gov. Jeb Bush asked a prosecutor Friday
to investigate why Terri Schiavo collapsed 15 years ago, calling into
question how long it took her husband to call 911 after he found her.
In a letter faxed to Pinellas-Pasco County State Attorney Bernie
McCabe, Bush said Michael Schiavo testified in a 1992 medical
malpractice trial that he found his wife collapsed at 5 a.m., and he
said in a 2003 television interview that he found her about 4:30 a.m.
He called 911 at 5:40 a.m.
"Between 40 and 70 minutes elapsed before the call was made, and I am
aware of no explanation for the delay," Bush wrote. "In light of this
new information, I urge you to take a fresh look at this case without
any preconceptions as to the outcome."
Michael Schiavo's attorney, George Felos, did not immediately return a
telephone call seeking comment Friday from The Associated Press. In
comments in The Miami Herald, he said Terri Schiavo would not have
survived if her husband had not immediately called 911.
"It's absolutely preposterous," Felos said. "If he had waited 70
minutes she would have been dead."
Terri Schiavo died March 31 from dehydration after her feeding tube
was disconnected at her husband's request, despite unsuccessful
efforts by her parents, Bush and others to keep her alive.
An autopsy released Wednesday concluded that she had been in a
persistent vegetative state and revealed no evidence that she was
strangled or otherwise abused before she collapsed.
It left unanswered the question of why Terri Schiavo's heart stopped,
cutting oxygen off from her brain. The autopsy showed she suffered
irreversible brain damage and her brain had shrunk to half the normal
size for her age.

Presumably so he can have him charged with murder and cook him on the
electric chair.
Because life is sacred.

Yup. He's "pro life." That's why he supports the
death penalty, but only for people with dark skin
or low income.

Basically, if you're Iraqi, or detained at Guantonomo, you're exempt
from talk about the 'Value of Human Life".
Funny how when Downing Street gets mentioned, the White House just
wants to move forward because it's just rehashing an old debate, but
when Jeb wants to revisit Terry Schiavo, it's "leaving no stone
unturned."

Quid pro quo; the Governor will soon be investigating the collapse of

Michael Schiavo has changed his story so many times that it should be obvious that
the man is driven by some kind of "psychological condition of mind".
His lawyer, Felos, is a real nutter! 2-3 years ago he wrote a book in which he claims
that his MIND interfered with the computers of the plane he was travelling on nearly
causing it to crash - and that immediately afterwards God warned him not to
underestimate the power of his mind.
Judge Greer is also something "strange"
Mind you, as far as those who want to rid our society of people like Terri are concerned
the "wierd cast" that orchestrated her death should be enthusiastically praised for their
compassion.
Human society is, and always has been, driven by competition between good and evil
impulses.
The Schindler's are the goodies - there's absolutely no doubt about that.
Absolute compassion for someone who is totally useless as a human being?
Is that bad? Does it make you feel "angry"? Do you think that people who act this way
are "fools", cruel even, for "prolonging suffering"?
If you disagree with me try expressing yourself without expletives.

The Schindler's are insane. You have a very twisted sense of
right and wrong.
Absolute compassion for someone who is totally useless as a human being?
Not useless, stupid. Dead. Brain quit. Not there any longer.
Autopsy results. Do read them. Let some reality in for a
change. My uncle is dying of an obscure wasting disease. He
can barely control his motorized wheelchair, his entire body
has become so weak and atrophied. I think we could call this
useless. As long as he doesn't say "Please kill me.", I
don't advocate cutting off his liquid nutrition. If his
cerebral cortex were jello, though, what would we be keeping
alive?
Is that bad? Does it make you feel "angry"? Do you think that people who act this way

Well, yes. All of the above. I hate irrational, hysterical

'Doctors should decide when a patient should die, without reference to the patient's
wishes, the wishes of the family, the opinion of other doctors, or any interference from
the law'
Dr Christian Barnard. 1990
A relative of mine started a job in a geriatric hospital as a night attendant (in the 70s). A
week or so later one of the attendants took him for a drink - and explained in detail how
to kill the patients (when they get too troublesome). During his ten years there he'd
killed "around 200". Several other attendants apparently engaged in the same activity.
"Leave the window open. He'll get pneumonia" - a family doctor's advice.
"They're killing us, you know" - my grandfather when I visited him in a geriatric hospital
in the 50s (I got him out and he lived another 7 years)
The elderly, etc., have always been a problem

Nope. I have nothing against modern technology -- as long
as such technology contains safeguards that make it IMPOSSIBLE
to hack into or corrupt the outcome of an election.
It's been proven that Diebold's machines can be hacked by a
knowledgeable teenager... so it is VERY possible for a party (and its
leader) that is so unethical and prone even to using THUGGERY to
get its way (e.g., Watergate, and the intimidation of the vote-counters
in Florida in 2000) to have used that gross deficiency to ENSURE that
our Warmonger-in-thief would get a second term.
Here's how EASY it would be to CORRECT such a possibility:
Congress needs only to pass a federal law that REQUIRES that
every electronic voting machine simultaneously produces evidence
on paper for every ballot cast. And then specify that the immediate
vote-counts produced when the polls close be regarded as *preliminary*
until MANDATED VERIFICATION of same in completed by tallying the

But that would be too EASY and too HONEST... for a **ReTHUGlican**-

Gee. If THIS Bush keeps emulating his brother (by consistently
making such an idiotic ***** of himself), he'll probably run for President
in 2008 and get elected by Diebold's crooked machines.

Nope.
Why do you keep SPAMMING the newsgroups? Why do you feel your hate speech
is so important that you feel the need to keep repeating it?

Nope. I have nothing against modern technology -- as long
as such technology contains safeguards that make it IMPOSSIBLE
to hack into or corrupt the outcome of an election.
It's been proven that Diebold's machines can be hacked by a
knowledgable teenager... so it is VERY possible for a party (and its
leader) that is so unethical and prone even to using THUGGERY to
get its way (e.g., Watergate, and the intimidation of the vote-counters
in Florida in 2000) to have used that gross defiency to ENSURE that
our Warmonger-in-thief would get a second term.
Here's how EASY it would be to CORRECT such a possibility:
Congress needs only to pass a federal law that REQUIRES that
every electronic voting machine simultaneously produces evidence
on paper for every ballot cast. And then specify that the immediate
vote-counts produced when the polls close be regarded as *preliminary*
until MANDATED VERIFICATION of same in completed by tallying the
paper count.

Nope. Bush won Ohio because the Bush-Cheney Chairman in Ohio, who is up
to his eyebrows in weird dealings in a rare-coin fund that was
supposedly an investment for the Ohio Worker's Compensation fund,
managed to suppress the story that a couple hundred million dollars had
gone missing from that fund and a Bermuda Hedge Fund that went
belly-up.

These are the same type of people who called in a supposed expert to say
that she was not in a vegetative state, the very condition that was verified
by the autopsy, so I guess that can find an expert to say whatever fits
their agenda.
