Gun Laws Don't Kill People, Loons With Guns Do |
If only Oklahoma didn't have those erstrictive gun laws preventing
their citizens from carry a piece and shoot back.

Guns don't protect human rights, people do!
The proof is Palestine where there are a great many guns and no freedom
in the world's largest concentration camps known as Gaza and the West
Bank. You can have all the guns you want and still not be free.
OTOH Gandhi threw out an entire empire out of India without a single
gun.

Actually Law and the Constitution establishes and protects Civil
Rights. For the palastinians that has not been resolved.
"Human rights" are a different issue. For most there are only two;
Birth & Death. Everything else is the natural struggle for survival,
and for most of history that has been either actively or passively
violent. For those who claim to be non-violent pacifists there is an
element of hypocracy as they cry foul when those they employ (military,
Law enforcement or other civilians) to protect their "Human Rights" are
compeled to use a violent act, be that with physical force, or firearm.
Gandhi's philosophy and methods for gaining Indian independence are
another myth.
After the Yalta Conference, FDR pretty much ensured Britain would have
to thin out her colonial empire and India was ripe, with or without
Gandhi.
Gandhi was in favor of the Japanese occupying colonial India during WWII.
After the war he gave passive encouragement to the violence and blood
bath between the Hindus and Muslims. He passively gave license to
others to do the killing. Only after his martyrdom was the pragmatic
and secular Nehru able to gain independence for India after the
creation of a seperate Muslim State of Pakistan.
Nehru could rightfully be termed the creator of modern independent
India not Gandhi.
