You don't know much, then. Terri herself was gone; her life was
over. It's just that her body didn't know it.
This is the most painfull death you can think of.
Nonsense. When patients with no hope of recovery have their feeding
tubes removed, they simply slip into comas, which deepen as death
progresses. Their deaths are actually quite peaceful. Terri Schiavo
did not suffer.
For all the people, who are making jokes on her brain,
shame on you. Even Terri was human.
Shame on the "pro-life" charlatans and religionists who exploited
Terri's predicament to promote their own crazy agendas.
If it would happen to me, I might hope to have people
who where willing to fight for me like her family did.
According to sworn testimony by her husband, Michael Schiavo, and
several corroborating witnesses, Terri did not want to be kept alive
indefinitely in a condition where there was no hope of recovery. You
have expressed your wish to be kept alive regardless of how hopeless
your medical condition might be. That is your right. You can spare
your family a lot of trouble by putting your wishes into writing.

I understand there are rare cases where this does happen and Coma
patients will wake up. However, in the case or Terri Schiavo, as much
as I hate to say this, she was better off being allowed to pass on.>From
reviewing the medical testimonies that I have read, following up
on other decisions from the medical community, it does not appear that
there was any hope for her. There are times where we have to trust
our medical professionals and allow matters to fall into God's
hands.
I believe that overall for Terri and the people who cared for her, the
decision to shut off the life support was the right thing to do.
Consider for a moment, if you were in her shoes. Would you want to
live like she did, if you consider that living at all?
Consider for a moment her family, the pain and suffering they went
through. Is it right to continue that pain and suffering knowing that
there is no hope? Isn't it better to just allow matters to fall into
Gods hands and let her pass on, so the living can grieve and move on
in life?
I struggled with this too Young; however, facts are..what they are.
There is a saying, "It is what it is", and she simply didn't have a
chance.
I don't know all the medical terminology involved and I'm not going to
pretend to be a medical expert; however, I trust the the doctors were
right on this one.
If you truly do have faith in God and believe there is life after
death, accept the fact that she is probably in a better place and no
longer suffering. I hope her family is healing and moving on as well.

Her CNS was reduces to only the most basic elements...i.e. breathing. She
was beyond pain. Whoever told you that was full of *****.
For all the people, who are making jokes on her brain, shame on you.
Even Terri was human.
So? She made her express wishes known to her husband who did everything
within reason to save her and ease her agony...including quitting his job to
study and become a nurse to care for her.
If it would happen to me, I might hope to have people who where
willing to fight for me like her family did.
That's right. Let's spend valuable and scarce resources - including a
hospital bed, nurses, doctors, medicines, electricity - to maintain a life
that is beyond living.
I know you are a very compassionate person and that it pains you to see
something like this, but resources are not endless. As much as you hate to
consider it, painful decisions have to made. And they are made *every day*
without you even knowing it, because the Religious Right doesn't choose to
make them all a media circus like they did with her.

ROTFLMAO!! THAT's what "those who defended her life" were lacking: hope!
They needed more "bolstering!"
There is a difference between optimism and delusion. Those who thought
that Terri had any chance for recovery were clearly delusional. (with the
exception of a few political opportunists, like, say,
GW-could-there-ever-be-a-bigger-*****-Bush). Feeding someone's
delusions is just plain wrong.

Tiny brain proves no problem for French bureaucrat
Man lived normal life despite fluid in his skull
REUTERS
A man with an unusually tiny brain managed to live an entirely normal life
despite his condition, caused by a fluid buildup in his skull, French
researchers reported on Thursday.
Scans of the 44-year-old man's brain showed that a huge fluid-filled chamber
called a ventricle took up most of the room in his skull, leaving little
more than a thin sheet of actual brain tissue.
"He was a married father of two children, and worked as a civil servant,"
Dr. Lionel Feuillet and colleagues at the Universite de la Mediterranee in
Marseille wrote in a letter to the Lancet medical journal.
The man went to a hospital after he had mild weakness in his left leg. When
Feuillet's staff took his medical history, they learned he had had a shunt
inserted into his head to drain away hydrocephalus -- water on the brain --
as an infant.
The shunt was removed when he was 14.
So the researchers did a computed tomography (CT) scan and another type of
scan called magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). They were astonished to see
"massive enlargement" of the lateral ventricles -- usually tiny chambers
that hold the cerebrospinal fluid that cushions the brain.
Intelligence tests showed the man had an IQ of 75, below the average score
of 100 but not considered mentally retarded or disabled, either.
"What I find amazing to this day is how the brain can deal with something
which you think should not be compatible with life," commented Dr. Max
Muenke, a pediatric brain defect specialist at the National Human Genome
Research Institute.
"If something happens very slowly over quite some time, maybe over decades,
the different parts of the brain take up functions that would normally be
done by the part that is pushed to the side," added Muenke, who was not
involved in the case.

This is just another case of a gentile murdering a jew. Terri was a jew. She
then had her body desecrated by cremation. btw, there are people living and
fuctioning with little more than a brain stem and there's one guy in France,
a postman, like this. It's true, his IQ is only about 80 but he lives
normally and functions. There are a number of cases recently where people

Functioning, perhaps. Living? Well, if you could call that living. The
point is that her husband (husbands given the legal ability to make medical
decisions for their spouse) did not believe that Teri would have wanted to
go on "living" in that condition. Given the choice, I don't believe that

There are a number
of cases recently where people came out of comas, one man after 19
years (he wanted to be put back in a coma lol) and another guy in
Poland also 19 years who lives normally although he has cancer.
