Because it's not like we can use that money elsewhere.

Last time that great scribe Yang, AthD (h.c) <eacmole@/
*AWOLBUSH*/mail.com> chipped away at his/her stone these gems of wisdom
for posterity ...
Because it's not like we can use that money elsewhere.

This is a theft of the public purse for private benefit of historic
proportions. Not only are the lunatics running the asylum but the
embezzlers are running the federal treasury.

Now, look, he's only got about 15 months to shovel as much as he can out
to Halliburton (et al)...

But where is the money actually going? To Iraq? I wouldn't bet 2
cents on that.

A great deal probably is....but I'll bet it isn't going to the Iraqis.
Seriously, so far we've spent about $18,000 per person living in Iraq
at the begiining of the war. The median income in Iraq was $700.00 per
year. The projected cost of the war is double what we aleady spent, or
$36,000.00 per per making $700.00 or the quivalent of 51.4 years of
income per person.
Bribing the people by offering to double their income for 5 years, to
have an internal coup, would have been a hell of a lot cheaper.

Money that goes to a US company to build a shoddy police barracks with
only 10% of their claimed "expenses" isn't money going to Iraq, it's
money going to a US company.
