Unbelievable. Adnan Oktar, aka Harun Yahya, the Turkish crackpot
creationist, didn't like the fact that his critics wrote mean things
about him ... so he applied to a Turkish court to have all Wordpress
blogs blocked. And the court accepted his argument, and no one in
Turkey has been able to access anything from Wordpress.com for a day
or two now.
Man, I was once mooned on the freeway by a guy in a Chevy. Does this
mean I can get Chevrolet to recall all of their cars in the state of
Minnesota now? That would sure teach him.
That fanatical nitwit wrote in to wordpress to brag about his
accomplishment and demand that blogs that offend him be shut down,
such as this one, and by the way, he'd also like all these blogs

It is easy to treat this as a joke and an amazing act of pig-headed
stupidity by a creationist, but we shouldn't forget the scary part: a
government with a pious judiciary was rather easily inclined to
endorse mass, indiscriminate censorship on the whim of an evil clown.

They just need to be mirrored on other servers. Surely the authors of
these blogs can duplicate their content on many different servers. I
doubt that he can keep getting the courts to shut down every offending
site, or there will be nothing left for Turks to see on the internet.
BTW, Turkey is officially a secular country. If enough pressure is
applied over things like this then old Harpoon LaLa will get slapped
down, even by his fellow countrymen.

I had a look at some of Yahya's site when I was sparring with our
spelling-challenged Muslim visitor last month. No great surprise that
it was page on page of lies and deceit, but what surprised me was that
it was the exact same crap the Christian trolls come out with.
