Has anyone read _The Gold of Exodus_? |
I found a copy at a garage sale for 10 cents. It's basically a story
that combines spy intrigue about saudi nuclear ambitions with treasure
hunting for the "gold of exodus". It seemed okay at first because it
wove in things about the israeli spies like pollard and saudi efforts to
buy nukes and missiles. But it quickly gets boneheaded, whenever they
start talking about religion. For example, at one point, one of the
characters says, "The bible gives a very good description of Mount
Sinai". But when pressed for this description, he says that (1) it has a
cave and (2) it should have some scorch marks where old Yah-right
descended.
Gee. Every mountain probably has a small cave or grotto and every
mountain has probably also had fires of various intensities on them.
Now, I suppose that if you also find egyptian gold artifacts buried
around there and hebrew writing and all that, it would be a bit more
convincing, but even that may not establish that the site found was in
fact Sinai, much less that the magical events described actually took
place. I'll probably keep trudging through the book, unless any of you
all have read and can tell me that I shouldn't waste my time.

Shut up, fool. I've told you before that your opinion doesn't count.
You keep forgetting that you're just an idiot with nothing intelligent
to say. But every time you say something you remind the rest of the
world.
