Object: Have they ever scored?
Can anyone direct me to any posting(s) in this group where a
religionist has come out on top in a topic? I've been looking for days
now.

A topic? Never that I've seen. A bible thumper will
get the better of someone in the odd exchange, but
never a whole topic? Like coming out on top in the
thread? Please.

The religionists have a tendency to slither off
screaming "Victory!" while being followed by
hoots of laughter. Many of them wait a few
months, return using a new name and end up
with the same result.

I think they come here to be spanked.

I think a lot of them come from an environment where everybody thinks the
way they do and they all know the arguments which are "absolute proofs" for
their beliefs. They come, secure in the knowledge that once presented
everyone will convert. They have never been presented with and never though
about other arguments. Pascal's wager and the argument from cause are
usually presented as absolute truth.

Little fish-hook stickers could also work. :-)
I basically ignore the christerfish treating the as a sign saying "idiot on
board." It's like people who leave their turn signals on: it's a warning to
other drivers that the person behind the wheel isn't all there and should be
given wide bearth. I used to try to get them to turn off their signal;
nowadays I simply take the warning and move on.

So true.
I am working in Italy these days, and half of them leave the blinker
on for miles at a time. Change lanes to the right, the whole time the
left blinker is on, very strange. Back home, it's usually a senior
citizen or they are buzzed or preoccupied.
I'm looking for the stickers, there's an American in this town that
brought his SUV, got the idiot on board sign too. My first target.
HA!

I have a hard enough time teaching them to use them in the first place...

Quite often they think they have. "The Bible says God did it, so there!"
is a winning argument in their tiny little minds.

That works both ways. Quite a few people think
"Your mother wears army boots," or a similar
statement, effectively refutes all theistic claims.
But, even then, SOMEBODY in the thread puts the
facts on record. So coming out on top FOR A TOPIC
would, for a theist, would represent a monumental
feat.

Depends what you mean by "religionist".
There have always been non-mainstream folk with roll-yer-own beliefs
who are quite sane and honest, who come out on top as often as we
atheists.
Although, I think I know what you are getting at.
Apart from occasional accidental flashes of honesty from a true fundy,
I can remember no event such as the one that you appear to be
searching for.
They are all inveterate compulsive liars, these fundies.

Once upon a time in T.O. a christian posted the Darwin deathbed myth. He was
of course the subject of a few comments...
He came back a week later having researched it (!!!), found out he was
wrong, admitted it, and apologised.
I think he came out on top.
