Heart of the Beholder--Update |
To make a pledge - reply to this email.
Now that all of the refund checks have been sent out to our
sweepstakes winners and everyone else who made pre-purchases
or donations, we can push ahead with our funding drive to make
HEART of the BEHOLDER.

$24,000 in Pledges Received as of 9 / 12 / 2003
===============================================
Never before has a movie been produced by using grass roots
funding. But thanks to the Internet and freethinkers around
the world, we're going to make sure that the first film that
is made this way, is an important one.
BEHOLDER has been called "Pulp Fiction" meets "Inherit the
Wind", but we prefer "Rocky" versus the "Religious Right".
Whatever it turns out to be, we are sure you will be proud
to have helped get it made.
We have received several emails saying that the links to the
information on how they can pledge a loan to our production,
wouldn't work properly. Below is the information and you
can now make a non-binding financial pledge to loan us money
for the film by simply replying to this email.
NOTE: Do not send any money to us at this time. All we need
is your pledge of possible financial support in the form of
a personal loan.
Personal Loan Information
=========================
Marketing Plan: We will accept non-binding financial pledges
from prospective personal lenders from around the world until
will reach our minimum film production budget of $500,000.
Once we reach the $500,000 level, we will set a funding date
that would give the lenders enough time to download the
promissory note from the website, get any legal advice they
need, then send in their checks.
Once the film is completed, we will submit it to the best
film festivals possible. If the film or it's distribution
rights are not sold through the festival circuit, then we
will take the film from city to city, college campus to
college campus, until every lender has been paid back.
1. Term and dollar limits of the Personal Loan: Two years
The minimum loan amount is $100.
Each lender will receive one DVD or VHS copy of the film
once it has been sold or picked up for distribution.
This will be the normal DVD or Video made available to
the public, not the Collectors Edition advertised in last
summer's funding promotion.
2. Interest Rate on Each Loan: Each loan will be earn 10%
annual percentage rate compounded daily. The effective
annual interest rate by compounding the interest daily
would equal an annual interest rate of 10.52% and the two
year total compounded interest would equal 22.47%.
To calculate what your interest return would be, go to:
http://www.unionsafe.com/usdb05/calculators/cic.html
Click on 365 day year at 10% for 740 days (two years) and
then type in the principal amount. Click on "Compounded
on a Daily Basis" and click on "calculate" to see your
interest return.
NOTE: 10% is the maximum interest rate allowed by
California law for personal loans.
3. The first lenders in would be the first lenders to be
paid back. If the film or it's distribution rights have not
been sold by the end of the second year, then interest would
continue to accrue on a daily basis until all lenders are
paid back.
4. The production company will be allowed to pay off the
loan early if possible, but the lenders would still get the
full two year interest on the loan.
5. This loan is not personally guaranteed. If we could,
we would have funded it ourselves.
6. The Top 12 lenders from anywhere in the world will
receive paid trips to Hollywood where they will play a
featured role in our film. All 12 lenders will participate
in a key scene with medium close-ups as well as extreme
close-ups for reaction shots.
7. The lenders have no voice in the production or casting
of the film unless they put up substantial capital.
Substantial capital means $50,000 or more. In that case,
these lenders would be offered a Limited Liability
Partnership position where they would earn financial
returns in perpetuity as an investment. However, federal
law restricts these unaccredited investors to no more
then 35. If you qualify financially as a potential
limited partner, then please call 310-861-5583 and
talk to us personally.
8. The lenders, and any limited partnership investors,
MUST be paid back in full before any fees are paid to the
film's writer, director, or producers.
Please consider helping us make this movie by replying
to this email with your non-binding financial pledge.
Sincerely,
Darlene Lieblich
