Object: Helping homeless and abused women
I'm usually wary of scams and urban legends, but snopes.com verifies
this claim:
It cost nothing to you.
Women's shelters in the U.S. go through thousands of tampons and pads
monthly. Assistance agencies generally help with expenses of
"everyday"
necessities such as toilet paper, diapers, and clothing, but one of
the
most BASIC needs is overlooked - feminine hygiene products. (Yes,
sexism is
still alive and well.)
Seventh Generation, a green paper products and cleaning products
company,
will donate a box of sanitary products to a women's shelter in your
chosen
state - just for clicking the link. Talk about easy (and, yes, it is
Legitimate)!
http://www.tampontification.com/donate.php
Thank you
.

Maybe so, but bibles don't make very good tampons. Donating something
of REALLY immediate use would be much more appreciated by the women and

Women's shelters in the U.S. go through
thousands of tampons and pads monthly.

In fact, the Broomleigh Group of True Christian® Baptist Churches, leads
the world in giving abused women free copies of The Holy Bible.

Maybe so, but bibles don't make very good tampons. Donating something
of REALLY immediate use would be much more appreciated by the women and
the Shelters.

Like money, perhaps.

Mmmm... Good advice.
I doubt that the Bibles would have been stolen by the director(s)!
Give it directly to clients, perhaps?
Or get a trusted thrid party to do it for you?

Not possible .... they are carefully isolated.

them through a shredder first - makes them even more absorbent.

That would be a good use in flood areas .... here in the desert? They
could make good tow for a chiminia, I guess. :-)

I should think both are toxic..... I wouldn't care to spread either.

The claims are far more damaging than merely "toxic".

tirebiter submitted this idea :

I'm usually wary of scams and urban legends, but snopes.com verifies
this claim:
It cost nothing to you.
Women's shelters in the U.S. go through thousands of tampons and pads
monthly. Assistance agencies generally help with expenses of
"everyday"
necessities such as toilet paper, diapers, and clothing, but one of
the
most BASIC needs is overlooked - feminine hygiene products. (Yes,
sexism is
still alive and well.)
Seventh Generation, a green paper products and cleaning products
company,
will donate a box of sanitary products to a women's shelter in your
chosen
state - just for clicking the link. Talk about easy (and, yes, it is
Legitimate)!
http://www.tampontification.com/donate.php
Thank you

I did a check also .... found this link ....
http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2007/03/355328.shtml
So I checked some more... Went to Seventh Generation main site and
under
*Community* found the link to the donation page.
I agree.... looks legit.
