Yup. There are some idiots going up on Mt. Ararat, hoping
to -- "*GAWD!* willing" -- bring back photos of Noah's Ark.
Serve them right if they loose their footing an plummet to a painful,
frozen death. They can serve as a warning to other brain-dead cretins.

That would just foster conspiracy theories among the lunatic fringe about
how they found the ark and then were killed by evil atheists to hush it up.
Much better if they simply go up there, explore to their heart's content,
find absolutely nothing, and come back empty-handed. (Of course, I suppose
no expedition of that kind *ever* comes back empty-handed - at worst,
they'll have some blurry photos which they claim are obviously of the ark,
which I'm sure they'll make big money by hocking to the faithful. You just
can't win with these people, can you?)

It's no conspiracy. So far we've been able to murder all the groups that
have found the ark. And just cuz there's a big old boat up in the hills of
Turkey does not prove that there is a god. But don't tell anyone it's

Somebody should get some rich theists to donate a bunch of money so they can
re-create the Ark. Rebuild the whole thing according to the specifications in
their bible, then stock it with two of every animal in the world(7 of some?),
enough supplies to feed and water them for a year, and then try to float it.
They'd soon find out it wouldn't work. Imagine the gnashing of teeth after that
happened. :/

First, find a 600 year old man to build the ark.
Incidentally, according to Genesis 7:2-3, it was 7 male and 7 female of
clean beasts, 2 male and 2 female of unclean beasts, and 7 male and 7 female
of fowls of the air. "Every thing that creepeth upon the earth" crept into
the equation a bit later. All gathered and given a boarding pass within a
week. I wonder if the surplus of "clean" animals were there to feed the
carnivores?
Using the dimensions given in Genesis 7:15 and the definition of a cubit as
21.888 inches (Easton's 1897 Bible Dictionary), allowing for hull shape,
passageways to access the animals in transit, volume lost to building
materials, etc, a generous estimate of the volume available for
storage/living space would be about 26,000 cubic metres. 28 elephants alone
(14 African, 14 Indian), packed in tight, would need about 500 of those
cubic meters, plus storage for about 150 kilograms of food per elephant per
day. That's 168 tonnes of vegetable matter. We're fast running out of
room, and all we have is elephants.

Then there's the engineering problem. Building a WOODEN boat that big would be a
real miracle(IF it floated and didn't just break apart as soon as the water
rose).

I made an error in the above food estimate. I only allowed for 40 days, but
Genesis 7:24 says the waters prevailed for 150 days. That means we need 630
tonnes of wholesome, nutritious, vegetable matter to keep the elephants
going.

I once had a creative theist explain to me how his god made it possible for all
those animals to survive a year in the Ark. He either put them all in suspended
animation or he just shrank them down to mouse size. That god of theirs is quite
creative, isn't he? ;)

That only gets you 665.999999. You have to repeat the 142857 block
infinitely.

Proof that man cannot comprehend the infinite?

No.

Yup. There are some idiots going up on Mt. Ararat, hoping
to -- "*GAWD!* willing" -- bring back photos of Noah's Ark.

Serve them right if they loose their footing an plummet to a painful,
frozen death. They can serve as a warning to other brain-dead cretins.

Thinking a mountain slope is a boat is rather unintelligent

Thinking a mountain slope is a particular boat from 6000 years ago, is
pretty stupid.

Thinking a mountain slope is a totally mythical boat is retarded.

Imagine the gnashing of teeth after that
happened. :/

Nah.

What else can you expect from Christians?

The brain dead don't recognize warnings.
