I recollect someone dropping by to check in on Patrick and with some
trepidation and

My memories of working with Patrick Humphrey:
Patrick would at times spin around on his work station chair and
randomly select one
of us and then vocalize "tick tick tick tick tick" and he would have a
demented look
on his puss. This kind of crap was really un-nerving because it was
happening at the
time postal workers were shooting their fellow employees. We have a
small tv which we
would sometimes watch and each time there was news of another postal
worker going
"postal" Patrick would break out into a delirious laughter and ask all
of us "I just
wonder what that poor chap's co-workers did to him so he had to shoot
them?"
Patrick loved stalking people on the net and he would get all joyful
and brag about
the "slob's buttons he just pushed." Patrick loved driving by his
marks' residences
and keeping files on them.
Patrick hates Christians, Republicans, Right to Life People and other
mid-America
types. Patrick loves pro-choicers, communists, atheists, homosexuals
and other sorts.
Patrick never missed Houston's annual Gay Pride Parades and he would
get all bent out
of shape if someone implied he was homosexual yet Patrick liked to
visit our football
team after home games in the locker room requesting to take showers
with them.
Patrick has an equally obnoxious and loathsome morbidly obese wife he
called "Dale
the Devious" though we called her "Stinky" and "Dale D Whale" behind
her back. Dale
must not have known what feminine hygiene was because she had an odor
which took five
air-wicks and three cans of Lysol to overcome. Dale is a hard core
women's libber and
she is just as torqued mentally as Patrick.
Patrick was obliged to taken psychiatric evaluations three times and
he was given
several prescriptions to help him to cope. Rice wanted to fire Patrick
but something
in the law prevents people suffering mental illnesses from being fired
as long as
they are being "treated." Patrick did a stretch at Rusk for treatment
and a rest.
When he returned he was as abusive as ever. This made Rice determined
to fire him.
When one person complained to Rice President Gillis regarding Patrick
stalking him
and how a civil lawsuit was impending Rice decided to investigate
Patrick and asked
Patrick's victim for documents. Patrick was encouraged to take his
vacation
and when Patrick was on leave Rice had all the locks changed and in
our department
all passwords etc. were changed or eliminated to prevent Patrick from
sabotaging the
computer system. Upon Patrick's return he was advised he was
officially terminated
and two security guards were on hand to escort Patrick away. No two
weeks notice was
given nor was Patrick allowed to gather his personal effects. We would
later have a
local delivery service to return Patrick's personal belongings to him.
Patrick hissed
and spewed threats that he would get even with all of us as the guards
forcibly
evicted Patrick and his bicycle from Rice U campus.

That's what happened when the MBAs took over IT. ;-)

Maybe it was my imagination... but the response I got from Rice when I
mentioned your name was about as warm as one I'd get trying to sneak Don Imus
into an NAACP conference. This was back in 2003 if memory serves me
correctly.

though they've been moved around to other positions, but from the rate of turnover in
the last five years, it looks like the same procedure of re-arranging the deck

However in your case you were fired instead of being re-arranged which was the reason
John Mayson was greeted with "tightened jaws and clinched teeth" at the mere mention
of your name.

I might add Patrick's files included pictures he took of his victims
residences, work
place or auto.

Patrick is obsessed with sports. Not all sports but male sports. He
didn't care for
women's athletics. His work station was festooned with pin-ups of male
jocks and
those photos were the type women bought as "hunk photos" seeing how
the models were
scantily clad and sweaty all to please her ladyship. Patrick had only
one photo of
his wife at his desk and it showed her all sweaty and pumping iron.

We really hated for "Stinky" to show up at lunch time with a meal for
Patrick. Most
of us broght lunches from home and ate them at our work stations.
"Stinky" could
never sit with her legs together and her thighs closed. She was always
spread eagle
and broadcasting a nauseous odor of a woman having her period and
using the same
sanitary napkin over and over. The smell was horrendous but Patrick
seemed oblivious
to it. Patrick would often remark about his performing cunnilingus on
"Stinky" and he
would always said "once you get passed the smell you have it licked."
We endured this
sort of abuse at more than one lunch time meal.
