"Hi, want to donate money? We already lost." |
I hope some of the local taxpayers remember how the county
threw away their money at the next election...

The group that raised more than $200,000 to help fund Barrow County's
attempt to publicly post the Ten Commandments is trying to start
chapters across the state to repay $50,000 it has yet to cover.
Ten Commandments-Georgia Inc. eventually wants to distribute copies of
the tablets to houses throughout Georgia, said the Rev. Jody Hice, the
group's president.
"Our goal is not to bring about political change - just restore a common
moral code," said the Rev. Jody Hice, pastor at First Bethlehem Baptist
Church and the group's president.
Hice's group sold yard signs from its web site to help fund Barrow
County's defense of an American Civil Liberties Union lawsuit
challenging a poster-sized display outside the courthouse.
The county lost its fight to display the tablets earlier this month and
must repay the ACLU $150,000 in legal fees - funds which Hice said his
group will not raise for the county.

Yeah. We don't want to change anything. We only want you to think
the way we do. How could you possibly complain about that when it's
right?

Well isn't _that_ interesting. They get someone to pick a fight for them and
then they refuse to foot the bill. Oh well...
