Object: his family knew
Mark 2:31
Then Jesus' mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent
someone in to call him. 32A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him,
"Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you."
33"Who are my mother and my brothers?" he asked.
34Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, "Here
are my mother and my brothers! 35Whoever does God's will is my brother and
sister and mother."
20Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and
his disciples were not even able to eat. 21When his family heard about this,
they went to take charge of him, for they said, "He is out of his mind."
His family was right.

They were not. They were just clueless about Moses and his Torah.
They have read according to the letter as explained
by the rabbis and not according to the Spirit.
"The letter kills but the Spirit gives life."
Jesus is the Messiah/Christ fortold by Moses
in the Torah. That is enough for me

Where are you seeing this? In the online King James bible that I
generally use for quotes here, I find the following in Mark 3 (not 2):
[31] There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing
without, sent unto him, calling him.
[32] And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold,
thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
[33] And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
[34] And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said,
Behold my mother and my brethren!
[35] For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother,
and my sister, and mother.
No mention of them claiming that he's "out of his mind" or anything
similar...

You're right, the wrong chapter is indicated (it should be '3,' not '2').
Now examine verse '21.'
Then look at this: http://bible.gospelcom.net/passage/?search=Mark%203:21
and have a peek at this:
http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/b-greek/2005-April/033962.html
I would just add that Bruce M. Metzger, in his comments (in his 'A Textual
Commentary on the Greek New Testament) on this passage, remarks that, 'The
original reading hoi par auto ("his friends" or "his relatives") apparently
proved to be so embarrassing that
DO WE al [NT manuscripts] altered it to read, 'When *the scribes and the
others* had heard about him, they went out to seize him, for they said, 'He
is beside himself.'" (Imagine that, Christian scribes messin' around with
God's 'revealed' Word. I'm utterly shocked - not!) As pointed out in the
second link in the above, the idiom points (in conjunction with Mk 3:31) to
Jesus' family. And that how it is understood by a large percentage of
'professional' NT commentators. (It can be viewed as Jesus' family, upon
hearing of the news that he is preaching nonsense to relatively large
audiences, (in verse 21) pack up and make their way to the place Jesus is
'teaching.' (They already think he's 'nuts.'). They finally reach the site
in verse 31 - whereupon Jesus impolitely 'disses' them.

Ah-ha!
Thank you. I should have looked up a little further in the chapter...

Then look at this: http://bible.gospelcom.net/passage/?search=Mark%203:21

That's a cool site, thank for the link.
Boy, there sure are a lot of different versions of God's Holy
Unalterable Word, aren't there? :)

(Imagine that, Christian scribes messin' around with
God's 'revealed' Word. I'm utterly shocked - not!)

What? Are you saying that scribes have engaged in the practice of
*editing* God's Holy Word? That some things may not be exactly
word-for-word the way Jesus wrote them down, in King James English?
I am just as shocked as you.

I know, I know. I almost pooped in my pants when I discovered it. But you
know what? God gave them 'divine' permission to go ahead and do it. Don't
believe me? Well if God *didn't*, those manuscripts would have burned up in
a
instant now, wouldn't they?
