Would the muslims consider it blasphemy if someone were stoned with
moon rocks?

Flying to the moon apparently is forbidden under Islamic law.
Mortals are not allowed to touch celestial objects, especially
with that most unclean part of the human anatomy, the foot.
Bitter riots were set off in Lebanon a number of years ago
when a Phalangist newspaper mocked a Moslem cleric
who denounced Apollo missions, with the jibe that the
Americans had not only trod upon the 'holy moon' (it
is after all a symbol of the Islamic faith), but had left
urine and feces there. Apparently, a number of rioters
were killed over this.
Cartoons today! The history of the space program tomorrow!
Be sensitive to religious feelings -- and denounce the Apollo
astronauts! Or else.

So.
Apparently the Middle East owns the Moon as well as American oil!

What we need to do is to find an inhabitable planet, go there and let
them keep this frickin' place and they can kill each other happily ever
after.

Nah. We give them Venus and 72 Virginians apiece.

As shallow and transparent as I find Christian fundamentalists to be, they
are miles beyond the shallow, transparent, and intentionally ignorant
Muslims.
I don't know about you, but I find that when one is presented with solid,
scientific evidence, the result of untold thousands of man-hours of hard
work by many scientists in many fields, spanning many generations, and
when one chooses to reject such a carefully crafted model of reality in
favor of one that is an accretion of myths and superstitions, compiled
by simpletons sitting around their campfire at night, for no
other reason than religion 'feels' better, THAT is the most contemptible
misuse of the human brain that I can imagine. It makes me feel dirty to
be part of the same species as people who do that. It's just sick.
