How come? |
How come early peoples, who would supposedly still have been close in time
to the garden of Eden , did not believe in one almighty god, but in rain
gods, sun gods, etc.? This was supposed to be the time when god came down
to earth and walked among them. How come the Greeks, the Romans, and many
other cultures, did not believe in one almighty god, but in whole pantheons
of gods? Surely they were all closer to the biblical creation than the
authors of the bible.
Every culture invented gods to explain what to their culture was still
unknown.
The shame of our society is that so many still believe in the god that was
invented
to explain what was unknown to the society of 2000 years ago.

Some people cannot say "I don't know" when facing some mystery of life
or the universe. So they make up a reason.
Like "how did the sun get there?" I dunno, what's important to me is
that it IS there, and all theories say it'll be there for millions of
years, which covers my life span. I don't feel stupid not knowing. And
there's little we could do if the sun extinguished. There'd be no
warning, just sudden darkness and cold.
However, if I wanted to rule other peoples lives, I would convince
them that the god I believe in put it there, and I'd make up a story
about how. I'd say *anything* to sound smarter than the people that I
rule. I'd install guilt trips then charge them money for the solution.
