I find it odd that the biblethumpers look at science as a code of morality.

I have an alternate hypothesis -
How some atheists come to be moral degenerates, by Duncan
---------------------------------------------------------
1) Some self-righteous fundamentalist declares that they know what is moral
2) In the absence of any serious problems directly facing him/her, the
fundamentalist embarks upon a quest to catalogue and label moral things.
3) The startled fundamentalist encounters someone with different beliefs or
values to him/herself and comes to the conclusion that the person is a moral
degenerate.
4) The fundamentalist departs, secure in their moral superiority and the
knowledge that the poor atheist will soon burn in hell.
5) The atheist, blissfully unaware and/or apathetic, continues his or her
religion-free life untroubled.
Whaddaya think?

I have an alternate hypothesis -

How some atheists come to be moral degenerates, by Duncan
---------------------------------------------------------

1) Some self-righteous fundamentalist declares that they know what is moral

Then the atheist snivels that they are victimized by the existence of right.
They are sure they are the ones who are right. They just do not like saying so
because actually they are wrong, moral degenerates. So they have to try to say
they are right, without saying they are right. So they run in lil' circles, like
mental retards.

2) In the absence of any serious problems directly facing him/her, the
fundamentalist embarks upon a quest to catalogue and label moral things.

You mean to admit to self evident truths evident in the Self.

3) The startled fundamentalist encounters someone with different beliefs or
values to him/herself and comes to the conclusion that the person is a moral
degenerate.

These mental midgets who have a blind faith in some of the grand ol' mythological
narratives of naturalism are moral degenerates. There is no other explanation
for their fervent desire to merge categories of human and animal, life and death,
etc., together.
<snioP>

5) The atheist, blissfully unaware and/or apathetic, continues his or her
religion-free life untroubled.

Whaddaya think?

Actually, they tend to die from a virus growing in their butt, anal cancer and
the like because atheists tend toward religious hedonism. Then they tend to want
socialism and free caring of health for all, because they need it.

I suppose you do not understand a nuance like tends to.
For atheistic thought tends to be too brutish, unrefined, mere matter in

You missed the reference to socialism, I take it. He was for free caring of health done in his
name by individuals, not individuals relying on a totalitarian State to do their good works for
them.
Marxism is like some pseudo-Christianity in which Christian principles are taken for their moral
authority so that socialists might gain totalitarian power.

The religious right these days seems to be mightily in favor using the power of the
government to implement and enforce Biblical teachings, as long as the matter under consideration
has to do with homosexualilty, abortion, prayer, or marriage. They're not nearly so eager
to have the government implement and enforce Jesus' teaching on charity and denial of
the self in the name of easing the burdens of the disadvantaged.

That's quite a shift for you.
I do not know if you have noticed this, or much of anything, but the government is already trying to do
charity, thanks to Leftist retards who would have things that way. It is better to shift this charity to
places where it is not paying for drug abuse, etc.
Thanks to a Leftist reading of Jesus teachings, the government ALREADY does impose such strictures. And
they are not very good at it.
Duh.

Well of course you can only speak for you government. UK governments
of both right and left do have strong concerns concerning society as a
whole and care for those who need it. Only the extreme right tend to
think everybody in need of help are somehow scroungers. They would
of course seek to impose a more US type of rampant Capitalism
where dog eats dog in a survival of the fittest world
Strange that the religious right, who used this Darwinian survival of
the fittest concept to justify capitalism now seek to bite the hand
that fed and deny the mechanisms of how evolution could have occurred.
What justification do they now have for the USA's exploitation of the
world and those weaker than them mighty selves?
We in Europe were forced by this creed to stop buying our bananas from
our former colonies in the Caribbean. Many of these small countries
are dependant on the banana trade for their livelihood, it is all
they can grow, and we were more than happy to buy from them. But no
this was not good enough for the rampant exploitative Capitalist USA.
So we were forced to abandon our Caribbean friends to their fate and
buy from the rich American producers.
The hypocracy of Christianity makes me sick!

<friendly fire alert>
It is not fitting to 'give the point' to those who dishonestly equivocate between evolution,
a principle accepted among the community of scientists as a given for at least a full
generation before Darwin's writings about its mechanisms, and "Social Darwinism",
the moral equivalent of our now renaming terrorist mass murders by converting passenger
airliners into airborne fireballs as "Social Paulineism", or "Social Mohammedism".
The fact that the two words were used together historically in a dishonest attempt to
make it a 'law of nature' that "superior" and "inferior" races (or even stronger and weaker
social "types") exist is by no means any intellectual excuse for allowing the dishonest
inference that biological evolution entails fascism -- or indeed, *ANY* social doctrine --
or ever did so.

"So what, he asks, 'does the genetic similarity of apes to men mean? What is
it
based on? Does it have profound implications for our understanding of human
nature? Here we will see that the universe of genetic similarities is quite
different from our preconceptions of what similarities mean. For example,
the very structure of DNA compels it to be no more than 75%
different, no matter how diverse the species being compared are. Yet
the fact that our DNA 15 more than 25% similar to a dandelion’s does
not imply that we are over one-quarter dandelion—even if the latter
were a sensible statement. This will be the primary illustration of the
confrontation between scientific data and folk knowledge, and of the
exploitation of the latter by the former. The extent to which our DNA
resembles an ape’s predicts nothing about our general similarity to
apes, much less about any moral or physical consequences
arriving from it.' [......]
Elaine Morgan draws our attention to the big picture: 'Considering
the very close genetic relationship that has been established by
comparison of biochemical properties of blood proteins, protein
structure and DNA and immunological responses, the differences
between a man and a chimpa zee are more astonishing than
the resemblances. They include structure differences in the
skeleton, the muscles, the skin, and the brain; differences
in posture associated with a unique method of locomotion;
differences in social organization; and finally the acquisition
of speech and tool-using, together with the dramatic increase
in intellectual ability which has led scientists to name their
own species Home sapiens—wise man. During the period
when these remarkable evolutionary changes were taking place,
other closely related ape-like species changed only very slowly,
and with far less remarkable results. It is hard to resist the
conclusion that something must have happened to the ancestors
of Home sapiens which did not happen to the ancestors
of gorillas and chimpanzees.'"

to the Mind of God by Roy Abraham Varghese :295-296)

Did you read this and the surrounding context for comprehension,
moron?
Did you also take notice of the fact that even in the educationally
backward USA about four times as many Christians as atheists accept
atheism and its explanations.
They'd be stupid not to. Because it is simply observed reality and its
powerfully predictive explanations which are accepted because they
work. Without which whole fields of science like genetics, biotech etc
simply wouldn't exist.

That's a college text, retard.

So what? WHAT WAS THE CONTEXT, AND THE SURROUNDING MATERIAL? Or did
you find this in a creationist pampphlet of mined quotes?
Evolution happens whether you like it or not. The scientific
expanations for it are DESCRIPTIVE and make no judgements.

Do you even know what Darwinism stands for?

Certainly, hate mongering Christian, he stood for understanding
and knowledge.
Clearly that is why you hate him so as it it obvious that
understanding and knowledge is not what you seek or
even comprehend. I rather suspect it is way beyond you ape
like intelligence. I guess Darwin may have been wrong on
that particular theory as here is clear evidence that it is
possible for a species to regress downwards from intelligence
to stupidity :-)
No, your aim in life seems to be quite the reverse of understanding
and knowledge instead it seems to be a Christian desire to
pour hatred and bile on anybody who dares to have a different
view to yours.
Of course it is always been true that simpler folk always first
attack that which they do not understand. They see intelligence
as a threat and , like animals reatreat into a hole and snarl
and bite in the hope they can frighten it away.
I will take pity on you as you are clearly frightened and
bewildered at these dangeous idea that clearly confuses
you.
Might I suggest that you may feel more comfortable on
a Christian newsgroup? Have you tried any of the Disney
newsgroups perhaps? You can fantasise with like minded
simple folk there and be happier?

In school I was friends with a girl who's parent's were devoutly christian,
belonged to one of the more strict churches. The 17 year old I was friends
with was shagging the married guy who's kids she babysat, her 14 year old
sister begged, borrowed and stole alcohol and her 12 year old brother was
sneaking out of school to smoke. I hate to think what the 5 year old got up
to.
This clearly proves that all devoutly religious people are incredibly crap
parents with morally degenerate children.
According to you anyway
