Sad story.
Billions of dollars down that rat hole called Iraq and we can a
miniscule fraction of that to help the veterans. Disgusting.

It wouldn't be quite so bad were the money being put to good use, but
when you keep hearing about the millions going in graft and waste, it
breaks your heart. And it's very hard to see how an extra 22,000
troops is going to prevent something like today - when 90 people died
in explosions "celebrating" a previous explosion.

When will our leaders learn that you can't hunt gnats with a sledge
hammer? I don't care if they put 220,000 thousand troops there. The
insurgents and death squads would just lie low for a while and when we
relax, things will start up again. Or they would just go somewhere else
to cause trouble.
One hears of the government sending pallets of money into a war zone and
then seeing it disappear. I'm sure that the injured veterans and their
families appreciate that.

That action got him 'head of the line privilages.' Now the army's
investigating to see why he missed his appointment.
