How Would The Atheists Live Without Jason |
I was just talking to rogue in another post and Jason and the atheists
came to mind (sounds like a book title). As most of you that know me
know I am not in favor of Jason's crossposting habits - where he goes
a whoring over into the atheist group and then comes running back to
the f.c. group like a spanked puppy. I don't mind the atheists
beating him up because he deserves it. He has no respect for human
dignity and deserves what he gets. Actually, a lot of his whippings
are quite funny. He reminds me of the kid whose mamma has him by the
arm while she whips his tail; jumping and screaming all over the place
rather than bending over and taking what id due him for mis wrong
behavior.
The problem is that his posts generate many responses that are
crossposted back to the Christian groups so that it is difficult to
find anything Christian to talk about. The f.c. is in the free
hierarchy so I guess nothing is technically off topic. And, I admit,
I do jump into some of the more interesting threads; especially when
Jason goes too far. But still, it would be nice if there were fewer
posts back to free christians and alt bible. After all, we all know
Jason is foolish and we really don't need several hundred posts a day
to remind us that he is foolish.
Jason loves attention and lets face it all he really wants to do is
advertise his web site. So, what people from the atheist group could
do is delete all but two groups from the address line so that the
responses only go to alt.atheism and alt.religion.christian.baptist.
This would reduce the amount of advertising that appears in the other
groups and reduce his revenue.
Jason is a baptist and baptists don't like baptists socializing with
atheists. If Jason's posts are cross posted to the baptist group his
own people will see how foolish he is. Who knows, maybe a big shot
baptist will take some form of action against him to prevent him from
making baptists look like fools.

Jason? I am not familiar with him or don't remember him. He is probably
posting to one of those topics that I quickly drop or avoid.

Brethren are not allowed to mix with people who aren't Brethren. It
doesn't stop them proselytising.
BB
The problem, Bob, is that, from both yours and Jason's POV, there aren't
enough Christians in usenet. That is not our fault, it isn't anybody's
fault, it's just how things are.
Jason crossposts from a free. newsgroup, which has no rules, to an alt.
newsgroup, which has a charter. alt.atheism regards preaching and
proselytisation as unwelcome, this means doing those things is bad
netiquette and liable to a strong response. It shows a lack of respect
that I have found is the general attitude of Christians toward those who
do not share their beliefs, their particular denomination or, more often
than not, their ethnic origins.
Jason will continue to pray for us and since he has obtained a list of
us through subterfuge and with intent to harrass us, he will continue to
get slapped down. If you have a way of ridding usenet of him, please do
it. We'll get on just fine without him, and Duke. They aren't special,
just annoying crossposters.

Sorry you are annoyed by responses to Jason, but he is your boy, not
ours. If he cross-posts his ill-will here, he is going to get
responses. If that bothers you you should killfile him and us.
Alt.atheism is the only venue where some of us don't have to put up
with being dumped on by christers. It is the only place we feel safe
in giving back as good as we get. We are not going to give this one
space up just because you don't like the fallout.

JWK,
I don't kill file.
If I did kill file the atheists I'd miss some good posts.
I know that it is your "home" and I know you don't like people coming
in and crapping on your carpet. What I was trying to say is that
Jason wants attention and he wants to advertise. He's like a kid
always saying look at me. Sometimes the cruelest thing you can do to

My apologies, if I offended you or any one else in your group.

You didn't offend me. Sometimes my natural terseness comes across as

The problem is that Jason not only says "look at me," he wants others
to pay for the privilege and the means by which he does so are
dishonest and fraudulent.
If it weren't for those things, lots of us would just ignore him.

Jason, before he plonked me, asked me to post in free.christians. I refused
to add a cross post but did end up lurking there a while.
He pretty much gets the same respect there as he does in AA.
As far as I've seen the only person who asked his help was somebody even
Jason said was mentally ill.
I have added prayer wheels (Let the wind pray for you) to my fencing
business now.
The discerning christian can now have a fence built from ark wood with a
fence containing cross beams from the cross all fastened with nails from the
cross.
Each corner can have a stone prayer wheel, fastened from the rock that was
in front of the tomb. Canned hot air from Jason is available to spin it if
need be. (The canned air is free. There is a huge surplus and no demand.)

Jason has no shame. I doubt that even a rebuke from fellow members of
his denomination would influence him as he doesn't think that his
behavior merits condemnation. He continues and defends his unethical
behavior and then blames others for chastising him. These are not the
actions of a mature person.
To answer your "subject" question, we could live quite well without
Jason. In fact, I believe that most people would be better off
without Jason. If Jason would 1) cease and desist crossposting
inflammatory articles to a.a. 2) remove the pirated atheist list from
his website and 3) stop publicly praying for atheists who appear on
the list, he would go a long way to decreasing the unwanted traffic to
the christian groups to which his whines against his treatment are
crossposted.
But that may be too straight forward for Jason to understand.
And you are right, Jason really doesn't want to talk about christian
things, he wants to talk about Jason.
