Object: I have been in the Schindlers' shoes
My wife's outward appearance and behaviour was very similar to Terri's
One group of medical staff saw her as a "mindless vegetable" and another group of
staff saw her as a "conscious being" with whom they could communicate.
The "mindless vegetable" people ('Quality of Lifers') had sufficient authority to ensure
my wife's death.
Her diagnosis on autopsy was:
Primary angiocentric T-cell lymphoma
With "remarkable changes to both hemispheres of her brain"
But she was conscious of them killing her - and d-i-d-n-t w-a-n-t t-o d-i-e.
Something, undetectable by autopsy, was put down her gastronomy (feeding) tube
I was with her 24 hours a day for the last four years of her life
Reality was me, her - and the rest.
'Quality of Lifers' killed my wife.

Me: "Did you give her anything?"
Doctor: "We put it down her gastronomy tube"
He later followed up with: "Because you have complained there will have to be an
autopsy".
I reported this conversation to the pathologist (an associate of the doctor) and asked
him to do a stomach contents examination - he didn't.
'There are over 200 substances that can be used to end a patient's life that are not
detectable by autopsy'
Published in the British newspaper 'The Guardian' in the midst of the debate about
Euthanasia.
Some doctors use these substances in order to make their job easier.
You would be surprised what doctors get up to.
In some American hospitals they call it the "Process"
It all depends on how much power the doctors who follow this path have.
After all, Dr Christian Barnard, the famous heart-transplant surgeon, did say in 1990@
'Doctors should decide when a patient should die, without reference to the patient's
wishes, the wishes of the family, the opinion of other doctors, or any interference from
the law'
And that's just what some doctors do.
My fairy-tale land was normal reality in some hospital environments - one only has to
look at the statistics the UK government have amassed over the last ten years.
Our government set up a "whistleblower" hotline for staff to report what was really
going on.

I would like to know what just 10 of them are. Then again an autopsy isn't
all inclusive. A full battery of forensics tests will show a great many
things. A simple autopsy is rather lacking IIRC.

What's your point? Are you in this case such a medical expert that you

experts he and the courts used?
Or are you planning to object to all cases where medical treatment is
withdrawn, regardless of the privacy or other issues involved? This case
is none of our business. Haven't you figured that out yet?

The most obvious thing about all this is that someone is either lying or not seeing things
right. Some "concerned" members of the public would like to know the truth.
Jeb Bush should go in and take her.
If it is determined that she is in a "vegetative" state then the Catholics should take over
- working on the presumption that she is already dead!
See what I mean?

I think that 7 years of steady court hearings has gotten as close to the
truth of this matter as is humanly possible. Let the woman die in peace,
for cryin' out loud.

The most obvious thing about all this is that someone is either lying or
not seeing things right. Some "concerned" members of the public would like
to know the truth.

Every indication is that it is Terri's parents who are not "seeing things
right." Unless, of course, your definition of "right" includes "keeping
Terri alive at all costs."

Jeb Bush should go in and take her.

Actually, the government in the USA was carefully crafted to avoid having
any one person wield the power of a monarch.

If it is determined that she is in a "vegetative" state then the
Catholics should take over
- working on the presumption that she is already dead!

See what I mean?

No. It HAS been determined that she is in a PVS, and has been for 15
years. The "Catholics" have no right to take over anything. Her husband
is her legal guardian, and his decisions should be honored, even if they
are not the same decisions that you would make.

pirouetted gracefully and with great fanfare proclaimed:

So, you had many doctors who agreed that she was a "mindless vegetable"?
You went to court dozens of times and appeared before the Supreme
Court 5 Times?

The "mindless vegetable" people ('Quality of Lifers') had sufficient authority to ensure
my wife's death.

Her diagnosis on autopsy was:

Primary angiocentric T-cell lymphoma

Primary angiocentric T-cell lymphoma is characterized by tumors that
destroy the nasal cavity. In the later stages, the tumor destroys the
palate (roof of mouth), and causes permenant swelling around the eyes
and nose. The situation is very grim.

With "remarkable changes to both hemispheres of her brain"

But she was conscious of them killing her - and d-i-d-n-t w-a-n-t t-o d-i-e.

They killed her? From the looks of things, the lymphoma did that.

'Quality of Lifers' killed my wife.

My grandmother (a devout Baptist) had cancer throughout her body; bone
cancer, lung cancer, blood cancer, and a massive cancer build-up behind
both eyes. She couldn't breathe, she couldn't hardly move, and, in the
final stages, she was reacting exactly like Terri Schiavo.
A couple weeks before she died, she choked out, "Why won't God take
me?!" She finally died and her suffering was over.
Had "right to lifers" had their way, my grandmother would still be alive
and suffering.
