You do realize, of course, that the lunatic right is extremely
well organized, and such a poll couldn't have been on CNN's
website for more than a few minutes before news of same
was zipping across *Dozens* of whack-job mailing lists?

So you're agreeing with me. Because, "Far left" and "More
then one-in-four think fairy tales should be taught in science
classrooms" just doesn't jive.
Seriously, dude, you've got to be pretty far gone when you
can't even see the contradictions that you yourself raise....

She's not the only one. The religious extremists, Limbaugh wannabes,
neocons etc imagine that anybody who isn't one of them is "the far
left".
We're not, of course. It is one of their standard slanders.
It gives them a ready made but dishonest excuse to dismiss what
they're told. Using a lie as an ad hominem.
It's also meant to get in the way of discussion because either we
accept that we're "far left" even though we're not, or we have to keep
explaining that we're not.
Especially when their sound byte mentality has too short an attention
span to follow what they're told.
Which imposes a red herring.
Those they get it from know exactly what they're doing.

Oh dear.
When I was vacationing in North Carolina a few years ago, a
local and colorful senior citizen was regaling me with tales of
his travels. He bragged that he'd gone "Way, w-a-y out west, all
the way to Kansas City." I think you and he are on the same
wavelength.

Of course, you know these "polls" are entirely fabricated?
A small computer ranges in randomly on the pre-selected target.
Your calls merely act as revenue for the phone companies, and have no
effect whatsoever on the figures.
CNN get a hefty kickback from them for organising the scam.
Think about it.

Of course, you realize that there are no phone calls. You click a
button with your mouse.
CNN get a hefty kickback from them for organising the scam.
CNN gets revenue money from the advertisers on its website whether or
not you click the button. They get money for every hit on their
website, just like Google or The Onion.
Think about it.
CNN, along with every other media outlet, is in the advertising
business. News is the loss leader. It's what they do.

They are not very organized then since they can only manage to get 27%
support.

But if the question were worded, "Do you think evolution should be
taught in schools?", what would be the numbers? Probably 74/26%
yes/no, I'd guess.
