If God Became Man 4
"Indeed, taking all the evidence together. it is not too much to say that
there is no historic incident better or more variously supported that the
resurrection of Christ. Nothing but antecedent assumption that it must be
false could have suggested the idea of deficiency in the proof of it."
B.F. Wescott
"He alone, of all men who ever lived, conquered death itself. By all
rules of evidence, His bodily resurrection from the grave can be adjudged
the best-proved fact of all history. "I am the resurrection and the
life," He said. "Because I live, ye shall live also"(John 11:25; 14:19).
Morris
The old hymn says "Turn you eyes upon Jesus, look full into His wonderful
face" is very appropriate for this Easter as Christians celebrate the most
wonderful miracle of the resurrection from death unto eternal life for
all followers of the Lord Jesus Christ the only way to God the Father, "I
am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father , but
by Me."(John 14:6).

He really, really, really, really wants it to be true...and therefore by the
Creation Science principle of the "Genesis Shuffle", reality rearranges
itself to coincide with what they want to be true. Simple!

The best supported event in history? Yes, perhaps... in Oppositeland.

How do people lie like that without their heads exploding?
Some of them know it's not true and imagine lying to "prove" their
religion is going to save souls - which their church has told them is
a tiny sin compared to letting souls not be saved.
But they don't grasp the obvious fact that when people see through
them they're only going to turn people away by doing it.
The rest of them believe the liars and don't even realise they are
repeating a transparent falsehood - which is pretty revealing.
They also believe the slanderous reasons the liars have given them,
that we don't believe, because the liars daren't be honest about this.
And they haven't the common sense not to repeat these lies about us,
to us. At which point it has got very personal - yet how many of them
hypocritically accuse us of what they have just done?

It's the part about repeating the lies about us *to us that really gets to
me.
I mean, elementary school kids are brighter than that...

If you had even one scrap of independent corroboration that the
BibleJesus stories were true, you would have posted that instead of
posting someone's unsupported opinion.
Nothing but antecedent assumption that it must be
false could have suggested the idea of deficiency in the proof of it."

I used to be a Christian. My antecedent assumption was that it was
true.
By all
rules of evidence, His bodily resurrection from the grave can be adjudged
the best-proved fact of all history.
You've got nothing.
The old hymn says...
That isn't evidence.
