If you're looking for purpose in your life, read this. |
I was once as you, seeking purpose in my life. I write this to tell you
that you *DO* have a purpose. A purpose so grand as to make you say
things like "Oh yea! That's a worthy purpose for all the toil in my
life. I'm glad it was done."
The grand purpose in which you seek requires God in your life though.
For without God, there would be *NO* purpose for you or anyone or anything.
God created Heaven and Earth to bring your soul to salvation (safety).
The universes are dangerous places to be. You will need to obtain
safety (salvation) for you soul if you with to be without torment for
ever and ever. So, God who loves us very much crated that safe place to
be (Heaven).
God being perfect and creating a perfect place to spend enternity,
created a testing ground for the souls to be tested. Tested of faith.
God can create all he wants. Do all he wants. Be all he wants. God
created heaven and earth for you and me.
Therefore, your primary purpose in life is to secure a place in paradise
with God. You do that through his son Jesus Christ. God knew that we
couldn't obtain salvation though works alone. So he sent his son to
wash us of our sins. To make us worthy to God. You must accept Jesus
as your Lord, accept his give of salvation, and repent of your sins.
This is only a small price to pay for salvation.
I pray that you will accept Jesus this very day. For tommorrow it may
be too late.
Do you really love these puny things in life so much that you would risk
losing your soul to ever lasting damnation? A paradise awaits you, that
has the finest things that could be had. Toil not over these things you
have aquired in this Earthly life, for they are but dirty rags compared
to that which is in heaven.
An atheists thinks that he is created of mere atoms arranging themselves
in a complex pattern that would create their soul. Or perhaps a process
of pushing electrons around in complex patterns to do the same. Yet
these things can be copied to exact perfection. Will then, they
themselves or their soul be also copied? If it were to happen, would
they be in both minds at once? If not, then who is in the other? Then
how could another be? If the pattern was exactly copied.
You have not the smallest knowledge of how you are created. Yet still
doubt that a higher intellegence could have done it.
If the world were not be destroyed shorly, how far do you think your
civilized knowledge would have attained in say 1000 more years? How
about one million years? Do you think you would have made simulators so
complex that you could have put people inside at birth for teaching the
basics of your civilization? Perhaps those people would even think that
their simulated environment is the only real world, for it is all that
they can sense. Perhaps it could also be a test of worthyness for
joining your civilization. How can you be so sure, it isn't happening now?

It's not "better"; it's equivalent. Perhaps you should brush up on your
English.
You have purpose, but you can't even express yourself without

???
Let's examine the sentence: "No thanks. I've got all the purpose I need
without your sky pixie."
Well, there's nothing wrong with the above sentence.
"I've got + N" = "I have + N". They're both perfectly acceptable and
grammatical statements in English.
"You've got mail."
"I've got music, I've got rhythm..."

My English is excellent. I happen to be a university trained author,
my BA is in PhotoJournalism.
I studied at a time when we cared about how our language SOUNDED. That
is, I took "Language Arts."
And if you break down what you just said, "I've got..."
It becomes, "I have got..." when you remove the contraction."
"I have got..." is NOT the equivalent of "I have..."
since you have used an extra, unnecessary word.
Therefore, making "I have..." a superior way of saying it.
But pardon me for attempting to educate you.
You have purpose, but you can't even express yourself without

Same meaning, more economy of words, sounds nicer.

AGAIN, if you are at ALL into "Language Arts" (apparently you couldn't
care less about how you sound)
"You've got mail."
"You have mail."
"I've got music, I've got rhythm..."
"I have music..."
"I have rhythm..."
Why must you GROWL "grrrrrrrrrrr"
and GRUNT 'grrrrrrrrrr"
"I've ggggggggggggggot..."

Your English is AWFUL
You are always getting it wrong
And your grammatical theory is quite wrong. You either had dreadful
teachers or you didn't listen
And if you break down what you just said, "I've got..."
It becomes, "I have got..." when you remove the contraction."
"I have got..." is NOT the equivalent of "I have..."
On the contrary it is and there is NO contraction involved - there is no
difference in meaning or in automatic emphasis, and there has been none
for centuries.
"I have got" probably originated from an Anglo Saxon construction and was
in fact use of the present perfect tense - however since the result of
"having acquired" something is to "have" it, the two forms "have" and
"have got" came to have equal value.
The "have" construction is - of course French based and the mixture of two
expressions with equal meaning may have taken place after the Norman
Conquest (1066 and all that)
Here in Australia this has progressed to the infuriating form "Have you
got? - yes I do" as the two accompanying grammatical structures become
further mixed up
since you have used an extra, unnecessary word.
Therefore, making "I have..." a superior way of saying it.
But pardon me for attempting to educate you.
Neither is superior and since the two constructions are equally valid and
different in origin there is No "UNNECESSARY" Word.
"Got" CAN be used as a form of emphasis but it is not implicit in its
use. For an extreme example perhaps "Do you have the letter? - Yes I've
got it" is a case where deliberately changing the construction adds
emphasis.
You have purpose, but you can't even express yourself without
stumbling over your own tongue.
???
Let's examine the sentence: "No thanks. I've got all the purpose I need
without your sky pixie."
Well, there's nothing wrong with the above sentence.
"I have all the purpose I need..."
Same meaning, more economy of words, sounds nicer.
Actually in this case the meaning MAY be different in that the writer
seems to be emphasising a process whereby he deliberately acquired what he
sees as being enough - he has in fact worked and reasoned to "get" the
requirements of his personal state of self reliance.
He would therefore be emphasising by the use of "have got" the fact that
he sees you as not having acquired that state that he enjoys. He could be
implying intellectual laziness and accompanying spiritual underdevelopment
on your part
I don't know how your English got to be so bad John. (I could equally say
"I don't know how your English "has got" to be so bad John" emphasising
deterioration of a more recent nature and a degree of personalfault)
But you really do not know enough to pass opinions on other peoples use of
the language and "got" is a particularly difficult thing to understand.
You suffer from a degree of Dyslexia in that you cannot comprehend
Elizabethan English of earlier forms such as found in Chaucer. You also
seem to have no understanding of Germanic language construction as in
Anglo Saxon (or in modern High German)
So do what I do - and leave most of this to the experts. I used to teach
English as a foreign language so I do know what I am talking about on this
particular point
If you want some more fun, anyone, ask yourself what the future tense
(all six persons - three singular and three plural) is in English The
correct answer is three lines below
There isn't one We use substitute constructions for the missing tense
and all are in a sense "modal" ie
I shall go tomorrow - (nowadays OR "I will go"can have equal value)
I go tomorrow (present tense plus time word)
I am going to go tomorrow
Note that "he shall go" is NOT necessarily the same as "he will go"
however nor is "you shall go" the same as "you will go"
It is in the first person singular and plural that "will" and "shall" CAN
be interchangeable. This is a recent change in the language (about thirty
years)
So what we learnt at school is not necessarily true today - the trend
however is ALWAYS towards greater flexibility and a wider range of meaning
I wonder if a dyed in the wool fundamentalist can even comprehend
linguistic evolution!
The superiority of English lies ENTIRELY in its staggering flexibility.
When we repress that or allow it to die, we take away its power
So leave it out, Johnno. Don't be a dingbat, and at least try not to
bung it on like a dingo ***** in heat

Wherever the idiom iis use, why, you writing a lexicon?
You have purpose, but you can't even express yourself without stumbling

No, that would be you. You see, the evidence from your posting history indicates you are so enamoured of the sound of your own voice, that your tongue flaps so much & so fast that it wraps around your eye teeth & you can't see what you are saying.
BTW, you forgot to provide your verifiable credentials so everyone could be unimpressed with your comments that served no purpose.

which wannabe this time, the one that thinks his booted copy of grammar for idiots is the only guide to proper speech, even though he can not follow those guidelines?
walksalone who has to grin every time jw tries to impress himself with his limited knowledge of English, grammar or spelling. After all, it does not impress anyone that knows how language works, but he sure enjoys pretending he knows what he is talking about.

The Hadith Qudsi 6
The first of people against whom judgment will be pronounced on the Day of Resurrection will be a
man who died a martyr. He will be brought and Allah will make known to him His favours and he will
recognize them.
The Almighty will say: And what did you do about them? He will say: I fought for you until I died a
martyr. He will say: You have lied - you did but fight that it might be said [of you]: He is courageous.
And so it was said.
Then he will be ordered to be dragged along on his face until he is cast into Hell-fire.

Nice try, but no cigar. Most people on alt.atheism are ex-christians
and
have already been down that route. Who wants to go chasing after a myth?
Time to dust off those sandals, boy.
I cross-post to alt.religion.christian.baptist so that other baptists
can correct anything that I say that might be incorrect.
Oh brother. You've never posted there, have you. They fight worse than

couple of women with PMS gathered around the last piece of chocolate

Ah, but there my be just one amoung you out there somewhere that is
tired of living a miserable life without God, and only needs a little
something more to believe in to find God.
In other words, you're here to proselytize. That's a violation of the
charter of alt.atheism. You are not welcome here. Bugger off.

I was once as you, seeking purpose in my life. I write this to tell
you
that you *DO* have a purpose. A purpose so grand as to make you say
things like "Oh yea! That's a worthy purpose for all the toil in my
life. I'm glad it was done."
The grand purpose in which you seek requires God in your life though.
For without God, there would be *NO* purpose for you or anyone or
anything.
You do realize that you're posting this to alt.ATHEISM, don't you?
I am on my secondary purpose for my remaining here on Earth. Which is
to bring at least one more soul to Jesus Christ. I don't intent to
"preach to the chior" so to speak, so I'm trying to get an atheist (or

Obviously, you didn't lurk here prior to posting your nonsense. What makes
you think life without a god is a miserable one? I can assure you, that
it's not. I have been living without a god for 44 years now and I can
honestly say that I'm happier than most people I'm aquainted with in "the
real world", all of which are theists.
Or can you just not comprehend someone thinking/believing differently than
you do? How sad.
If I have to live another 50 or so years here on Earth, just to get that
one more soul to Jesus, it would be worth it. Don't believe me? Then
ask that soul that found salvation when we meet in paradise.
Prove your god exists, the soul exists and this paradise place exists. No
reason whatsoever to take anything you say seriously until you do so.
Why are you pushing people to believe in fairytales? Don't you think it's
about time you grew up and threw away such silly nonsense?

Oh brother. You've never posted there, have you. They fight
worse than a couple of women with PMS gathered around the last
piece of chocolate cake.
Ah, but there my be just one amoung you out there somewhere that is
tired of living a miserable life without God, and only needs a
little something more to believe in to find God.
Are you sure you're not here looking to deconvert? We have a much
better record of deconversions than any Christians have of
converting one of us.
Sure, like you're a "Democrat" now, Fred!
;-)
Of course not. I don't believe in fairy tales.
Then why are you Republican?
Because Democrats suck worse.
:-)
If I have to live another 50 or so years here on Earth, just to get
that one more soul to Jesus, it would be worth it. Don't believe
me? Then ask that soul that found salvation when we meet in
paradise.
Why don't you spend those fifty years doing something tangible to
improve the lives of people right here on earth? It's much more
rewarding than any emotional buzz you can get from preaching at
people.
Let's just say I was prescient in switching off my irony meter,
Fred...
I can only presume that you think that liberating over fifty million
people from tyrranical governments won't improve their lives any.
Ever heard of "Out of the frying pan and into the fire," Fred?
Yes, but I fail to see how Saddam's regime was better than what they're
working to establish.

I was once as you, seeking purpose in my life. I write this to
tell you that you *DO* have a purpose. A purpose so grand as
to make you say things like "Oh yea! That's a worthy purpose
for all the toil in my life. I'm glad it was done."
The grand purpose in which you seek requires God in your life
though. For without God, there would be *NO* purpose for you or
anyone or
anything.
You do realize that you're posting this to alt.ATHEISM, don't
you?
I am on my secondary purpose for my remaining here on Earth.
Which is to bring at least one more soul to Jesus Christ. I
don't intent to "preach to the chior" so to speak, so I'm trying
to get an atheist (or more) to seek the light and go to Jesus.
Nice try, but no cigar. Most people on alt.atheism are
ex-christians and have already been down that route. Who wants to
go chasing after a myth? Time to dust off those sandals, boy.
I cross-post to alt.religion.christian.baptist so that other

Fallacy of the complex question.
Do I believe that the Middle East would be better off with Saddam in
power? Yes.
Should the terrorists be challenged? Yes.
