I'll Stopping Calling the Republicans Nazis When They Stop Acting Like the Nazis |

If you’re planning to vote in Virginia’s February Republican
presidential primary, be prepared to sign an oath swearing your
Republican loyalty.
The State Board of Elections on Monday approved a state Republican
Party request to require all who apply for a GOP primary ballot first
vow in writing that they’ll vote for the party’s presidential nominee
next fall.
There’s no practical way to enforce the oath. Virginia doesn’t require
voters to register by party, and for years the state’s Republicans
have fretted that Democrats might meddle in their open primaries.
I wonder if the “loyalty oath”sounds anything like this:
Ich schwöre bei Gott diesen heiligen Eid, daß ich dem Führer des
Deutschen Reiches und Volkes Adolf Hitler, dem Oberbefehlshaber der
Wehrmacht, unbedingten Gehorsam leisten und als tapferer Soldat bereit
sein will, jederzeit für diesen Eid mein Leben einzusetzen.

No, Geoff, not "something like". I want to see the exact text of this

Because frankly, I don't believe the story is for real.

Ohhhh...you mean you think Yang's story about the Virginia oath is fake like
the one you vectored about SF using eminent domain to make pot farms (re: We
The Living, In San Francisco)?
Let's look back and see what you said when I told you that story seemed
apocryphal. You said, "Could be. Not my problem. If you care to prove that
claim, go right ahead."
Well then Fred, how about taking a dose of your own medicine? By your own
words, if the story's fake, it's not Yang's problem. If you care to prove it
is, why don't you get off your lazy ***** and do some research for a change.
Perhaps you'll get lucky and find out Yang's story is a fake just like I
found out yours was.

If you’re planning to vote in Virginia’s February Republican
presidential primary, be prepared to sign an oath swearing your
Republican loyalty.
The State Board of Elections on Monday approved a state Republican
Party request to require all who apply for a GOP primary ballot
first vow in writing that they’ll vote for the party’s
presidential nominee next fall.
There’s no practical way to enforce the oath. Virginia doesn’t
require
voters to register by party, and for years the state’s Republicans
have fretted that Democrats might meddle in their open primaries.
I wonder if the “loyalty oath”sounds anything like this:
Ich schwöre bei Gott diesen heiligen Eid, daß ich dem Führer des
Deutschen Reiches und Volkes Adolf Hitler, dem Oberbefehlshaber
der Wehrmacht, unbedingten Gehorsam leisten und als tapferer
Soldat
bereit
sein will, jederzeit für diesen Eid mein Leben einzusetzen.
How about you post the exact text of this "oath", Yangie-pwn3d?

As was said in the West Virginia v. Barnette case:
"Decision as to the constitutionality of particular laws which strike
at the substance of religious tenets and practices must be made by
this Court. The duty is a solemn one, and in meeting it we cannot say
that a failure, because of religious scruples, to assume a particular
physical position and to repeat the words of a patriotic formula
creates a grave danger to the nation. Such a statutory exaction is a
form of test oath, and **the test oath has always been abhorrent in
the United States.** Words uttered under coercion are proof of loyalty
to nothing but self-interest. Love of country must spring from willing
hearts and free minds, inspired by a fair administration of wise laws
enacted by the people's elected representatives within the bounds of
express constitutional prohibitions. These laws must, to be consistent
with the First Amendment, permit the widest toleration of conflicting
viewpoints consistent with a society of free men." - US Supreme Court,
