I'm back and need more info on Benny Hinn |
Hi everyone its nice being back to Usenet. I am doing some research on
some of the Word of Faith teachers.
Has anyone either researched Benny Hinn's teachings or been to one of
his
services?
A couple of years ago, I did some research on him because my Aunt told
me
how great he was. Unfortunately, I found that he was quite a fraud;
proclaiming to do miracles when none were actually performed, saying
things
that contradicted God's Word, claiming to heal people that later say
they
weren't healed, etc.
If you haven't made yourself familiar with the Apologetics Index, then
please do. It's a fantastic resource because it investigates people,
movements, sects, etc. It takes their very words from their literature
and
teachings and holds it against the Word of God.

In short, beware of Benny Hinn. He has lied many times and led many
astray.
He has some heretical teachings. It appears that he became very
popular
before he was a mature believer; before he was grounded in the Word,

I'd
be surprised if he hasn't been approached about his lies and his false
teachings, so he likely blazed a trail that he felt he couldn't or
wouldn't
retract. Unfortunately, this has left him in a place with the Word
Faith
movement that is very undesirable to Bereans that meticulously study
the
scriptures.

I don't see that he is fraud. Also to me it looks his teachings are
perfectly ok from Biblical theology.

He is a fraud. Orlando's Channel 9 did an expose on him a few years back.
They caught him curing some of the same exact people from one city to the
next. In the expose, they pointed these people out. They also did a
follow up on the "cured" people and found that there were no organic
changes that doctors could find. The vast majority (put aside for the
moment the shills that were continually cured) seemed to have gotten their
infirmities back.
After the several part expose, Benny boy went from proclaim that "the person
is cured" to "the doctor says that the person says that they are cured."
It is a fact that a majority diseases are self healing, and a small
percentage of cancer patients have total reversals for no apparent reason.
What these so called faith healers seem to "cure" as diseases which have a
natural cure rate anyway, or medical conditions which have a psychological
origin. Not one faith healer has cured an organic problem like a lost
limb, damaged retina or optic nerve, or type 1 diabetes.

Any body can do any expose. Those who run such kind of expose usually
suppress informations and show only part of the information that suites
them.
In any Christian healing event there are few facts.
1.) Not all people get healed.
Mat 17:16 "So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure
him."
disciples could not cure doesn't mean that they were fraud.
Mat 13:58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their
unbelief.
Jesus did not do mighty works because faith was missing
2.) Some people do lose their healing and even get worse things.
John 5:14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, "See,
you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you."

revealed to Benny that He would return -- in the flesh -- during a
Benny Hinn crusade.
Later, Benny announced during a service that Jesus HAD returned -- IN
THE FLESH-- during one of his services in a 3rd World country, and
that it had all been videotaped.
Only they lost the video tape!
Benny videotapes the most significant event in the history of mankind,
and he lost the video tape?
Uh!
Benny is a liar.

The appearances after Christ left us were all recorded in scripture.
And there is NOTHING in scripture to suggest that "He will appear
here, then He will appear there, then He will appear somewhere
else..."
The scripture says that when He comes it will be INSTANT, in the AIR,
and the entire PLANET will be aware of His coming at the same moment.
Those who are fooled are those who don't know the Word.

prophet. But thank God desciples and Paul and other 500 people who saw Jesus
is risen again are not false prophets.
Just after resurrection Jesus appeared to Mary, disciples and others and to
Paul and to Stephen and so on. Now this kind of appearance is not at all
subjected to Mat 24:23-24. What Mat 24:23-24 is trying to say is false
christs and false prophets will claim that they are Christ. Remember false
christs and false prophets are not false just because they show signs and
wonders but because they speak what Christ has not spoken and teach what
Christ has not taught. They are the ones who work "against Christ" not "for
Christ".
Today's problem is as soon as people see signs and wonders they began to say
that preacher is false.
