To hate a pedophile is not irrational. Pedophiles cause harm to
another person without their consent, thereby violating a child's
rights. To hate a homosexual is irrational because they have done
nothing to you, and they don't go around violating other people's
person. That's why homophobia is defined as an IRRATIONAL fear and/or
hatred of homosexuals.

Homophobia and Physical Aggression Toward Homosexual and Heterosexual
Individuals.
Jeffrey A. Bernat; Karen S. Calhoun; Henry E. Adams; Amos Zeichner.
Author's abstract:
This study examined the relationship between homophobia (defined as
self-reported negative affect, avoidance, and aggression toward
homosexuals) and homosexual aggression. Self-identified heterosexual
college men were assigned to homophobic (n = 26) and nonhomophobic (n
= 26) groups on the basis of their scores on the Homophobia Scale (HS;
L. W. Wright, H. E. Adams, & J. A. Bernat, 1999). Physical aggression
was examined by having participants administer shocks to a fictitious
opponent during a competitive reaction time (RT) task under the
impression that the study was examining the relationship between
sexually explicit material and RT. Participants were exposed to a male
homosexual erotic videotape, their affective reactions were assessed,
and they then competed in the RT task against either a heterosexual or
a homosexual opponent. The homophobic group reported significantly
more negative affect, anxiety, and anger-hostility after watching the
homosexual erotic videotape than did the nonhomophobic group.
Additionally, the homophobic group was significantly more aggressive
toward the homosexual opponent, but the groups did not differ in
aggression toward the heterosexual opponent.

Is homophobia associated with homosexual arousal?
Henry E. Adams; Lester W. Wright Jr.; Bethany A. Lohr.
Author's abstract:
The authors investigated the role of homosexual arousal in exclusively
heterosexual men who admitted negative affect toward homosexual
individuals. Participants consisted of a group of homophobic men (n =
35) and a group of nonhomophobic men (n = 29); they were assigned to
groups on the basis of their scores on the Index of Homophobia (W. W.
Hudson & W. A. Ricketts, 1980). The men were exposed to sexually
explicit erotic stimuli consisting of heterosexual, male homosexual,
and lesbian videotapes, and changes in penile circumference were
monitored. They also completed an Aggression Questionnaire (A. H. Buss
& M. Perry, 1992). Both groups exhibited increases in penile
circumference to the heterosexual and female homosexual videos. Only
the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male
homosexual stimuli. The groups did not differ in aggression.
Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the
homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies.

Sexually Aggressive and Nonaggressive Men: Sexual Arousal and
Judgments in Response to Acquaintance Rape and Consensual Analogues.
Jeffrey A. Bernat; Karen S. Calhoun; Henry E. Adams.
Author's abstract:
Self-identified sexually aggressive (SA) and nonaggressive (NA)
college men listened to audiotape analogues of consensual sexual
intercourse and acquaintance rape. Phallometric and decision-latency
methodology was used to examine sexual arousal and decisions to stop
sexual advances in each scenario. Both groups showed increases in
penile response to the consensual scenario. Consistent with the
inhibition model of sexual aggression, the SA group showed greater
sexual arousal and failed to inhibit responding when force was
introduced in the rape, whereas the NA group exhibited less arousal
and greater inhibition to force. The SA group allowed the rape to
continue significantly longer than the NA group. These effects were
greatly magnified in SA men who endorsed high calloused sexual
beliefs, implying that a cognitive set that justifies sexual
aggression and lacks victim empathy may disinhibit sexual arousal and
potentiate coercive decision making.

You're talking technicalities here, I figured we are referring to the
fully grown adult that fancies sexual relations with individuals who
have not reached physical or mental maturity to anywhere near that of
an fully developed adult, against their will.
There have been many cases like the one you described above, and
ideally, there would be a way to gage a person's
physical/sexual/emotional/intellectual development and weigh each case
on the circumstances. But we don't have an absolute quantitative way
to do that, and as a result have to rely on the number that
constitutes age.
There are also some cases of an entirely consensual relationship
between two people that are straddling the age barrier (one slightly
over the age of consent and the other slightly below it), where the
parents will charge the older one with statutory rape.

Lo, many moons past, on Sun, 09 May 2004 01:23:21 +0100, a stranger
called by some "Peter Hucker" <peter.hucker@btconnect.com> came forth

Typical response of a nazi fuckwit. I'm not gay,
So stop supporting the bastards.
Why? Because you're all scared of the big, bad homos?
I support humans. All of them.

phobe is an incorrect suffix.

I support humans, not homos.

Ah. And this affects the concept of "free society" how? The citizens
of each state pass the laws the feel are needed. Some are common to
all (the biggies like murder, arson, fraud, etc.) some are unique.
Laws change because of the nature of the various states. For example,
I don't think land-locked Kansas has any need to define the penalties
for killing a sea otter.
All state laws and courts have to come under the umbrella of US law
(especially the Constitution) and the Federal and Supreme Courts. So
if you think a law is wrong, you have two channels, the legislature
and the courts, and multiple chances in each!

Yes, and?
If Oregon defines Grand Theft Auto as crarrying a penalty of 5-15
years in prison and a $5,000 fine, while Idaho decides it is a 10 year
mandatory sentence with a $2,500 fine, who cares? If the pople don't
like the laws, they pressure the legislature to change them. If the
laws fail to pass Constitutional muster, the courts dump them.

and that doesn't even cover Alaska and Hawaii!
So what if it's big? You have ONE government. If you want to ***** about with different rules everywhere, get more governments.
Ah! I see where the confusion lies. We don't have one government.
We have one federal government and fifty state governments. My home
state of California has a Constitution
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/const-toc.html
along with the three branches of government. Almost all of what
happens in the state is run by the state government. I vote for state
officials (you might remember our three-ring circus last year where we
put Arnold the Republican in the Governor's office.)
We also have a federal government. We vote for most of that.
The United States is a Federal Union. Hell, the bulk of our Army
doesn't technically belong to the federal government, but to the
states! It's called the National Guard. During WWII, the vast majority
of American troops were actually from these state armies under federal
control for the duration.
We accept that local control of the laws is best. Hattenberg County,
Alabama, decides the booze is evil and outlaws the sale or possession
of alchoholic spirits. That's their law, and they're happy with it.
Don't like it? Move.
BUAHAHAHAHA! Now that's rediculous.
Why? They've made the decision, and they vote does not violate the
Constitution in any way. About a third of the counties in the South
are dry. Ever hear of Jack Daniels Whisky? The county it is
distilled in is dry. So if you take the tour, and the end, they put
you on a bus and drive you five miles to the tasting room in another
county!.
Those differences are few and far between, actually. The big weirdo

LEGALIZED? Do you mean to say on most of the states that those two are prohibited?!?
49 out of 50. New Jersey allows gambling in Atlantic City. In Nevada
prostitution is legal only in counties with population densities below
a certain level.
Oh, and American Indians can run casinos on their reservations..
tribal lands are exempt form most state laws..
