Impacts Badly On The Bible |
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/3750765.stm
reveals that "Evidence has been found for a global winter following
the asteroid impact that is thought to have killed off the dinosaurs
65 million years ago."
Now I would like any young-Earth creationist to explain how it is that
Earth could sustain an impact of this magnitude - with the devastating
fall-out followed by a brutal winter - without it getting a single
mention in the Bible. If Earth is as young as they claim and humans
were created on the sixth day, then humans must have been alive when
this asteroid (and the scores of others that have demonstrably
impacted) arrived, yet nowhere is it mentioned in any literature.
Any takers?
I thought not.

Well...Look. That earth got wiped out from the spittle of GOD
ALMIGHTY. Those prehistorics were His first project in bioblogical
mabchinery. After spitting on and stomping the demo and after a bit
of rest, He simply rebuilt the whole thing in six, yes, SIX damned
days. An if you don't believe that, well, I tell you what, you're
goin' ta BURN in the frying pits of HELL!!
I thought not.

I've been thinking about becoming an advocate for the mentally
disabled. I think young earth creationists fall in that category
somewhere, even if it's the _willfully_ disabled. Still, let me try
not to discriminate by speaking on their behalf:
"You derned Evilutionist moron, that thar Asterrhoid impactchun is an
IMPOSTER foystered upon an UnsusPecting Humanoid papaltation by SATAN
ALMIGHTY ya HERE, boy?"
Well, maybe not as good as an original, but I think it carries the
message sufficiently well. ;-)

Oh, I'm sure they will. The answer is simple... "goddiddit." That is
the only answer they ever have for anything. "Goddiddit! We should not
question his will, we cannot begin to understand his ways. Everything
happens for a purpose."
<Sigh> Is it any wonder that we can't take anything they say
seriously? They have the minds of children. It's like trying to
explain quantum physics to the kid down the street proudly proclaiming
that he "just went 'poo-poo' like a big boy!"
Merde!

I believe this is Duke's way of saying that geological evidence like
this is just another one of God's little jokes.
It's only a problem for literalists, of course.

The bible is the revealed word of God written in the hand of man. It is not a geological
survey paper.

Hey, kermit. What is "ritual cannibalism"?
