Well, on the Quotes site in question there is a rather large
collection of examples (some with scans), such as:
WT 1919 April 1 p.6414
"Is not the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society the one and
only channel which the Lord has used in dispensing his truth
continually since the beginning of the harvest period?"
WT 1931 November 1 p.327
"The Watchtower is not the instrument of any man or set of men,
nor is it published according to the whims of men. No man's
opinion is expressed in The Watchtower."
WT 1933 September 15 p.276-7
"It has pleased the Lord to use The Watchtower as a means of
conveying his message to his covenant people;"
WT 1933 November 1 p.296
As surely as Jehovah has an organization on the earth, just
so surely he is feeding the members of that organization by
the hand of Christ Jesus. The facts prove that he uses the
Watch Tower publications to bring these truths to the attention
of his remnant.
WT 1964 May 1 p.277-8
"It is through the columns of The Watchtower that Jehovah
provides direction and constant Scriptural counsel to his
people"
WT 1965 June 1 p.352
"...but it is all a part of the advancement of Jehovah's
theocratically controlled organization under the immediate
direction of Jehovah God himself."
WT 1972 August 1 p.460
"Through the columns of The Watchtower comes increased light
on God's Word as Jehovah makes it known."
Okay, that's just a few.
The message published by Jehovah God's one and only channel
of communication under his immediate direction does not carry
divine authority?
I'm not trying to be clever here, I really would like to
understand how this is supposed to work. How is it that the
Watchtower is sometimes God's sole channel of communication
through which he personally provides direction and new light,
and other times "Hey, go easy on us, we're only human" ?
Have they ever given an official explanation for this
"imperfectly spirit-directed" phenomenon?
.
