Who's responsible for the CURRENT spending binge?

Well, it's all those religious organizations which Bush feels he has to give
billions to. Apparently tithing isn't rolling in enough money so he wants the
taxpayer to foot the bill to keep churches afloat.
Of course this begs the question on why, if a church is so unpopular that they
can't financially sustain themselves, even when they're not paying taxes to
begin with, why does the government need to bankroll them? Isn't that just
throwing good money after bad?
