Dear Sir and Madam,
I am writing to request a television interview for a documentary I am
producing on the theme "Ethnic and Religious Tolerance."
My name is Cecilia [delete] and I am a television news producer with
the U.S. Department of State.
I am producing this program with a television crew from Iraq, who will
be visiting the U.S. for two weeks on a grant they were awarded by the
State Department's Television Cooperative Program. The team will
consist of three people. One a journalist from the Shiite station, one
from the Sunni station, and one from the Kurdistan station.
My intent is to produce a story which outlines religious freedom in
the United States, and in particular, the importance of the separation
of church and state.
We will be visiting the DC area in November....I don't have exact
dates yet, but will soon. Please let me know if you are interested in
participating in this program.
Thanks and regards,

Cool! I hope you wrote back to tell them that unfortunately, due to
circumstances beyond your control, the separation of church and state in
the United States of America, along with several other civil rights, has
been temporarily suspended. Please check back after the 2008 election.
