Object: In the (Fake) News: Florida Judge Orders Bibles to Carry Anti-Creationism Sticker!
From the article:
-------------------------------------------------------
Unconfirmed sources report that a State of Florida Appellate Court
Judge is about to hand down a ruling that will require all Bibles in
the state to carry a warning sticker. The proposed sticker reads:
"Warning this book promotes the dogma of creationism. Because experts
disagree about the scientific basis of creationism, it and the rest of
the material in this book should not be taken on faith. One should
approach this material with an open mind and study it critically." The
Florida religious community has greeted the news of the expected
ruling with pleasure and is anxious to comply.

Hi
I'm not an American so I know nothing about the educational system in
Florida or any of the other states. I gather from these threads though
that schools do have religious instruction classes. If biology texts
can be required to carry those ridiculous stickers is there anything
stopping a school board from requiring that bibles in religious classes
carry a similar disclaimer?
Pity we'll never get to see it and the reaction from the fundies.

Schools run by churches do. In public schools (schools run by the
government), which is most schools in the US, that would be illegal.
Courses in Comparative Religion can be taught, the role of religion is
taught in history classes, but religious instruction is not allowed.
Which religion would instruction be given in? (We have no State
religion, remember.)

If biology texts

stopping a school board from requiring that bibles in religious classes

The riots that would ensue?
