From the article:
------------------------------------
Closing arguments begin Friday morning in the federal trial regarding how
evolution is taught in Cobb County classrooms.
As the five-day trial nears its end inside of the federal courthouse in Downtown
Atlanta, the case is managing to garner national, as well some international,
attention. The scenario is reminiscent of when reporters came from around the
world to report on John Scopes's 1925 trial for teaching evolution in violation
of Tennessee state law.
Although the current issue is sending ripples through Atlanta?s federal court,
newspapers from as far away as England are detailing the trial?s day-to-day
progression.

But if Europeans had educated them instead of running them out we
wouldn't be stuck with them. Our witch-burning Puritans started in the
Netherlands and were driven to England. England did the same and they
would up in the Americans. And the Indians, in an act of a priori
revenge, helped them survive the winter.
And all of this over Iraq? How did you know?

The Pilgrim Fathers left the Netherlands (among other reasons)
because they couldn't stand the religious tolerance
being practiced there.

An early case of "think of the children", IIRC.
