BECKLEY — Secretary of State Joe Manchin says if he is elected
governor he would support legislation requiring West Virginia's public
schools to post the Ten Commandments.
"I don't think there's anything wrong with that," Manchin told The
Register-Herald for today's edition. "I wouldn't hesitate one second."
Manchin, who is seeking the Democratic gubernatorial nomination, said
he wasn't concerned about possible legal challenges to the Old
Testament law going up in classrooms. He said posting the commandments
to "recognize there's someone more powerful in all our lives" is not
an attack on the beliefs of others.

Yeah right. There goes another ironmetre. Like "someone more powerful
in all our lives" who can not be seen or in any way verified is not a
belief. Mind boggles.

How can recognizing "there's someone more powerful in all our lives" not be
an attack on the beliefs of others who do not believe "there's someone more
powerful in all our lives?"
