HARRISBURG, Pa. (Reuters) - Civil rights groups sued a Pennsylvania
school district on Tuesday to block teaching of "intelligent design,"
an alternative to evolution that contends nature was created by an
all-powerful being.
The American Civil Liberties Union and Americans United for Separation
of Church and State filed suit in federal court on behalf of parents
of students in the Dover Area School District who object to the
teaching of "intelligent design" alongside evolution in high school
biology classes.
.. . .The news conference in the state capitol building was also
attended by two protesters carrying signs that read, "Evolution:
Unscientific and Untrue."
