Intelligent Design: Kitzmiller Case Verdict is in. |
"Kitzmiller Decision: Plaintiffs Prevail
December 20, 2005
The much-awaited decision in the Kitzmiller et al. v. Dover Area
School District is now available.
The 139 page document finds for the plaintiffs.
Judge Jones finds that “intelligent design” is not science. The DASD
ID policy violates both purpose and effect prongs of the Lemon test,
and also violates the Pennsylvania constitution."

The Judge got it right. The reaction of the Religious right should
be very interesting.
They will, as usual, distort what has happened, mewl
lots of lies and slander everybody in sight.
What is going to be interesting is, how this case
is used in other courts, when ID is challenged.
I suspect eventually Kansas will be challenged.
I hope we find out how much this case will cost the Dover school
district in $$$ (they are liable for the court costs and plaintiff's
legal fees). Any school board contemplating a similar ID instruction
should pay heed to the potential costs.

So did Judge Jones, he specifically countered it in his conclusion
Those who disagree with our holding will likely mark it as the product of an activist judge. If so, they will have erred as this is manifestly not an activist Court. Rather, this case came to us as the result of the activism of an ill-informed faction on a school board, aided by a national public interest law firm eager to find a constitutional test case on ID, who in combination drove the Board to adopt an imprudent and ultimately unconstitutional policy. The breathtaking inanity of the Board’s decision is evident when considered against the factual backdrop which has now been fully revealed through this trial. The students, parents, and teachers of the Dover Area School District deserved better than to be dragged into this legal maelstrom, with its resulting utter waste of monetary and personal resources.

From article:
"In the larger debate over intelligent design, this decision will be of
minor significance," added Discovery Institute attorney Casey Luskin.
"As we've repeatedly stressed, the ultimate validity of intelligent will
be determined not by the courts but by the scientific evidence pointing
to design."
Scientific evidence? Where is it? Maybe they will be so kind as to
present some someday. But I'm not holding my breath.

Judge Jones finds that "intelligent design" is not science. The DASD
ID policy violates both purpose and effect prongs of the Lemon test,

Talk about lies. In DI's response it says:
"He has conflated Discovery Institute's position with that of the
Dover school board, and he totally misrepresents intelligent design and
the motivations of the scientists who research it."
I can't find the link right now but I read that a ID friendly
organization called the 'John Templeton Foundation' offered funding for
scientific research into ID and _no one took them up on there offer_.

So, you're saying that it doesn't matter what you do, as long as you
have faith in Jesus. I can kill, rape, steal, lie, etc - as long as at
the end of the day I reaffirm my faith in Jesus. That certainly
explains alot.
And why is it that Theists say that Atheist have no basis for morals?

Nope.
You've got it wrong.
Read the book of Timothy for a better explanation.
