TEHRAN, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- A senior officer of Iran's
armed forces said on Saturday that his country would fight back any
possible military threat or attack, the state television reported.
"The armed forces of Iran would firmly respond to any
military and threatening move".
"Our forces understand the different threats and have the capacity and
capability to confront them," Brigadier General Ali Fazli, spokesman for
Iran's latest drills, was quoted as saying.
The officer made the remarks just one day after Israeli
deputy defense minister refused to rule out military strike
against Iran's controversial nuclear program.
"The enemies of the Islamic republic are too weak and too abject
to be a threat for a powerful Iran," he added.
Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Ephraim Sneh on Friday told the
Jerusalem Post that he believed military action against Iran was
the "last resort", but may also be the "only resort".

This is yet more good news. Iran has sewn the seeds of its own =
thermonuclear annihilation, and it tends to its crop lovingly. May they =
reap a bumper harvest. I forsee a domino effect that will leave the =
moslem world either re-enlightened or a smoking, radioactive ruin. =
Civilization cannot move onward and upward while islam exists. Maybe =
that Ahmedinejad fellow isn't so bad after all.=20
Anyhoo, I can't sit here philosophising all night. They're showing old =

can it be that you are thinking civilization hasn't moved onward and
upward for the last 1400 years? You must be living on a different
planet.
Of course we may still be uncivilized enough to ruin our own world.
but there have been some inprovements since 600 AD
Do you think democracy is uncivilized?
Do you think bringing the death rate of underage children down to 30%
or so from what it was before is uncivilized?
Do you think boosting the worlds food productionso much that it can now
sustain 6 billion people is uncivilized.
Just three of the many improvements we have seen since 600 AD
And during all those 1400 years there has been Islam.
As I remember Islam actually contributed a lot to civilization,
and the european barbarians only got going after they learned a lot
from them.
OK today Islamic countries are a bit behind,
but what happened to us, can happen to them.
