I hate Bush and everything he stands for. He doesn't care
how many young men and women die, as long as he and his
fatcat friends can profit from from a war we should never
have been involved in.. I can't wait for him to be impeached
and sent to prison for treason. He is responsible for thousands
of deaths and the loss of priceless historical treasures. He is
also responsible for making the US look like dirt to most of
the world.

I suggest that "most" Americans couldn't care less about creation

lingering scraps of it were eradicated last November!!! The only
reasons they are still given lip service is because of either money,
fear or power!
Ah, money, fear, and power, three of the more potent motivators in the
world. Much more reliable than gratitude or appeasement.
It isn't a choice between appeasment or bullying - as all you neo-cons
cannot understand (immaturity is showing big time there).
It's a choice between being mature and responsible, and treating other
countries like they aren't just something to push around (not that we
can anyway) and being stupid and wanting to wave your ***** around.
So grow up Freddy. Isn't it way past time you did? As the man said,
the rest of world sees you for exactly what you are.

Of course force is sometimes necessary if you're not going to be taken
advantage of by strongmen. Sometimes a good hard threat is worth more
than all the sweet talk in the world.

Get real, Katie darlin. The world isn't the nicey-nicey touchy-feely
place you wish you lived in. Yeah, we're not nice little complacent
doormats like the French. Even the French are starting to realize that
appeasement isn't a prescription for peace on earth.

I've gotta say that people here are taking the US less seriously, and have a
great deal more respect for the European Union. In many areas, such America
as a tourist destination, a role model or a place to go study abroad or a
place whose technology, society, government, legal system, or even style of
English are worth emulating, the US is becoming passe, and people are
turning to Europe and Japan more. And to think that this turning away from
America was accomplished by one man: George W. Bush.
Under Clinton, however, America received great heights of respect from
around the world.

I can hope too, but with so many Democrats marching to the right, I also
have my fears. What I find particularly disturbing is that many of them
now feel that it is necessary to appeal to the religious right. To do so
would be a terrible mistake, because they could never hope to take away
enough of the Republican base to obtain victory, but they run the risk
of alienating their own core. Now more than ever, we need another
progressive party with enough money and clout to at least gain a
foothold in the government.

He is
also responsible for making the US look like dirt to most of
the world.
And as someone living outside the US, I can tell you that it's true:
most
people outside the US think the American government has gone insane.
As someone living in the US, I can tell you, they are right.
The elections of 2006 will show if there's any hope for us.
None. Nada. Zilch. The same rubbish from 2000, amplified in 2004,
and applied logrythmically in 2006.

True. But, do you think that Hitler would have gotten anywhere
if he had used Shicklegruber instead? Heil Shicklegruber just
doesn't have the elan of Heil Hitler. And, Heil Bush sounds
just plain stupid. So does Hail Bush. In fact, so does Bush
himself every time he opens his mouth to speak. I'll bet his
father cringes every time his shrub gives a speech. No
wonder the old man left the country on a charity tour.

Hitler is shorter and harder sounding. However, advertising can make
up for much.

They're absolutely correct, and I mean that literally. The US's top
rulers suffer from pronounced sociopathy and extreme dissociation from
reality. If they weren't rich and powerful, they'd be in prison psych
wards.

Odd, then, how right they were about the mideast. If they're so divorced
from reality, why is it that the dominoes are falling in so many muslim
nations?
