Is America At War? |

The only question remaining is how much suffering will we endure along
the way..... How many 9/11's, how many Cole's, how many future
tragedies
will we take before all Americans realize that we are, in fact, at war.
Just go to Afganistan or Iraq
then you will find out what being at war reallly means.
The USA - I think - hasn't any real war experience since General Lee
capitulated.
For US citizens war is something that happens in far away countries I
gather.
But 6 years ago, Tuesday, it was brought home to us....On OUR
shores, to OUR people. There are few Americans who don't remember
that day of days.
Most Americans know someone who is or has been deployed to
Afghanistan
or Iraq. Unlike General Grant, who uttered the phrase "War is all
hell", we today
don't seem inclined to fight the way Grant did. Grant believed that
war is such
a horrible undertaking that it is the duty of a leader to make that
war so bloody, so
ruthless and so complete that our enemies would never steer that
course again.
Today, we want to fight a politically correct war... What we need to
do is "make em howl".
U.S. Grant would've.

But at least some terrrorist did perish.

Grants acts of war costed 60.000 lifes on the union side alone.
I acknowledge Bushes Iraqi campaign probably will cost much more
American lifes than 9/11 did. But he is a saint compared to Grant.
