Anything short of a permanent state of warfare might be called
appeasement by someone. I'm not suggesting that we do nothing with Iran.
Just like with Iraq we can make clear to them that we have subs with
missiles targetted directly on them, ready to reduce them to rubble if
there's even a hint that their nuclear munitions are going to be used for
anything other than a last-ditch self-defense of their homeland.

First off, study some fucking geography, not to mention history. Iran is
not a pissant country. Secondly, if every significant country on the
planet had nukes then it would make it far more likely that they would
settle their problems diplomatically. There would be far less war and
that would be better for everyone. The "invade every country that might
have nukes" policy has been discredited since the days of the cuban
missile crisis. It's now been conclusively shown that had Curtis LeMay
and the warhawks prevailed upon Kennedy to actually invade Cuba, that a
nuclear exchange probably would have occurred and life as we know it
probably would have ended up being wiped out. That's the bankruptcy of
your first strike ideology.

It has nothing to do with New York. We have already repaid Israel for
everything it has ever done for us in the Cold War. Now Israel needs to
take care of itself. It is not the 51st state in the union,
Joel Lieberman notwithstanding. Israel is far more of a liability right
now than an asset. It is unpatriotic to put the interests of Israel
above the interests of our own country and that is what many neocons have
treasonously tried to do.
