"Is there a Real God?" 1922 by Marshall J. Gauvin |
http://www.skeptical-christian.net/fundamentals/real_god.html
I'm working on transferring another old book. Originally a 38-page essay,
this essay which I've transferred to the web, was very impressive to me.
Written in 1922, by Marshall J. Gauvin in "The Fundamentals of Freethought".
It forces one to ask the question, *if God* was indeed involved with
creation, considering the scientific discoveries of the past decades?
Considering the brutalities found in nature as Gauvin points out, if God was
involved, "what kind of God" would implement such a cruel design?
Gauvin points out some of the mythologies in history, and their link with
the scriptures in the Bible. For instance, some details on the background of
"Jehovah", originally a Midianite god of war.
An exceptional essay.
Gauvin asks the question, who is God? And continues on, to ask the
definition "what is God?" (calling on Christian doctrine's definitions,
which make absolutely no sense at all).
Very thought provoking material.
Did Jesus Christ Really Live?
tml)
the second article found in "Fundamentals of Freethought" is located on the
Secular Web.
The book is being transferred in its entirety to
www.skeptical-christian.net/fundamentals
which also contains Gauvin's Preface to the book.
At the moment, I am working on:
"Did Jesus Christ Rise From the Dead?" Chapter 3 from Fundamentals of
Freethought.
Enjoy!

Sharon, you and I have some unfinished business and it was even on a
topical matter.
Remember asking about grass being around billions of years ago?

Now I realize that it was a pretty far-fetched - even incredibly
ignorant - speculation on your part.
The point here is that you whined incessantly about how some of us
never talk about anything topical or in response to the "science" in
your posts.
I did just that and was even reasonably gentle about it (given the
silliness of your speculation) and you had nothing of substance to
say...as usual.
Do you have a response or don't you?
