IS THERE A REAL GOD? |
There are dozens of major religions and hundreds of variations of beliefs
within theses religions. There are thousands of additional different god
beliefs. The top dozen are;
Hinduism, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, Shinto, Confucianism, Jainism,
Taoism, Christianity, Islam, Sikhism, and Bahá'í
There is NO objective verifiable evidence as to the actual existence of any
of these gods. All of the beliefs are founded on the claims and opinions of
other men.
Why do people base their lives on such nebulous information? Of the
thousands of god beliefs, which if any, is the real god and why does this
god not clearly demonstrate he is the real god and which are fakes? Why
would any real god permit his creations to be so mislead and confused? The
evidence is that non of these are real gods but merely the 'creations' of
man!

These written texts are nothing but human testimonies.
Humans that you choose not to believe. That is your choice.
Bearing in mind that today's newspapers repeatedly get stories wrong,
We are not discussing today's newspapers.
Maybe not, moron, but it was a good analogy.
You have made your choice not to believe.
This is a deliberately nasty, vicious slander - and terminally,
in-your-face nasty hypocrites pretend you don't understand why you get
such a negative reaction for saying that.
Yet you don't question any other ancient text
this way.
More deliberate falsehood.

But as I said, if God did something like that again, 2,000
years from now, you would be one of the humans that
would not be believed.
It would be an
considered evidence in a trial if the nature under consideration were
ordinary matters of the type "John stabbed Peter in the market".
Really? Caesar claimed to be "God above all gods".
Do you doubt he existed?
And dozens of scholars of the time recorded the facts of Caesar's life and
performance.
NO author wrote of Jesus during his 'claimed' life time. there is NO obctive
verifiable evidence
that any Jesus Christ ever existed except in church prepared documents.
Miracles are recorded as being done in texts outside
of religious texts. In fact, Titus is recorded as having
done two of them. But hey, maybe he never existed?
Now why would people claim to be eyewitnesses of
what would get them locked up and killed for saying it?
That doesn't make sense. This was not some small
group. This was thousands of people, being slaughtered
and yet, they went to their deaths and all for a Person
that did not exist and did not do these works? Yea, right.
There are no AUTHENITCATED 'EYE WITNESSES of Jesus Christs
existence.

which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon,

Even if some ancient texts were telling us about the miracles of
Caesar, or Titus, or whatever, I do not need to reject that Caesar was
a human being, or Titus, or even that there was a man called Jesus, and
that some people were telling about the wonders done by these man.
I reject the wonders and miracles but I can accept willingly that these
men were human beings, more or less important in their time.
Si I am not a sort of idiot, that I can reject the existence of a man
called Jesus, or any other
man of this time. I do not care if Jesus existed for real or not, I
only reject the Evangiles, and the miracles, and the different wonders.
These are all fake to me.

You sound sincere, and I don't like to 'attack' people with sincere
beliefs - but I believe you are deluded. In exactly the same way that a
child who believes in Father Christmas is deluded.
There are hundreds of people in the UK today who travel around the country
following fraudsters who put on local shows claiming to be able to
communicate with the 'dearly departed'. It's a con, and most sensible and
rational people know it's a con. Nevertheless, they have a faithful
following who truly believe these shysters. Those who believe in these con
merchants are poor deluded fools - but that does not alter the fact that
they *do* seriously and sincerely believe that these shysters can talk to
their dead loved ones. They are deluded - as surely as theists are deluded.

Your belief....and that is okay. I wasn't trying to preach, or convert,
anyone to my beliefs; you cannot convert me from mine.
If I am deluded, it is a self-delusion and harms no one but me.
However, I see no harm even if it is a "delusion"; I am happy, filled
with a measure of joy in each day, and (I think) a better person because
I try to keep the five virtues in my life. If my "delusion"/ belief has
benefits for me and harms no one else, (politely) it is none of your
business.
There are hundreds of people in the UK today who travel around the

Those people are not harming themselves; they are being harmed and
their money being taken by cons. The comparison does not apply to me.
No one is harming me or taking my money because of my beliefs.

He has provided evidence. You choose to believe it never
happened. Your choice. But if He did it again, I wonder
what people would be saying 2,000 years from now? Demanding the
same circus act performer again, no doubt.
"He" doesn't perform at all...or cannot because there is nothing
to perform.
That's quite a statement. So God does not exist? You say that as
an absolute.
Without one iota of proof that he does. And with any amount of logic
and rationality to demonstrate that he doesn't. I believe his
statement is totally acceptable.
Hmmm.... me, I would suggest that the strongest statement one should
make is "I hold no belief in gods or goddesses because I have yet to
come across any evidence of their existence. This does not rule out
the possibility of goddesses or gods, but means only that I have seen
no reason to convince me they are out there".
Nor do I think one can "choose to believe" -- I cannot choose to
believe that I am a raccoon, no matter how hard I might try to.
Belief is something that experience imposes, and not a conscious
choice.
I accept all of that. But what possible 'experience' can anyone go
through to make them believe in a God for which no evidence exists?
