Is this "protocol" a forgery? |

Lo, many moons past, on 4 Nov 2003 06:37:06 -0800, a stranger called
by some (Thurston Phoremost) came
forth and told this tale in alt.atheism

I can't find a single record of that book ever being published
anywhere.
The only list for Israel Cohen as an author I can find is "Jewish Life
in Modern Times" (Methuen & Co., 1914) The Library of Congress has
never heard of "A Racial Program for the Twentith Century" The first
and only mention of the books seems to be when that sole quote was
read into the Congressional Record. Forgety.

Yes, it is a hoax. Interestingly enough, the quote you provided is the
ONLY known exerpt from the alleged book.
The mention in the Congressional Record is from a known racist and
anti-Semite, Thomas Abernathy of Mississippi. His comments were motivated
by the establishment of the American Negro Labor Congress, a civil rights
organization that worked for equal pay for equal work regardless of race.
Abernathy was trying to convince Congress, during the McCarthy
witch-hunts, that anything resembling a civil rights movement was de facto
Communist. Curiously enough, there seems to be no published mention of "A
Racial Program for the Twentieth Century" *before* Congressman Abernathy's
statements.
