No, and neither is yours. There are no names in a book which doesn't exist.

Thomas said something to that effect. Unless I see Him with my own eyes,
and put my fingers on his nail holed hands, and lest I thrust my hand into
His side, I will not believe. I call it: "Doubting Thomas Syndrome." I'll
tell you what RS. How bout, you repent, and then you'll know the Book of
Life exists. I can't do no more than that, than wishing you eternal life.

I love the way Xtians think that demanding solid evidence to support a
preposterous story is a bad thing. You can tell that the basic ideas of
science were not yet in place when the Gospels were written. And, FWIW,
"eternal life" does not have much appeal for me, either.

You lost me by using the NIV. It changed 50,000 verses, and took the Blood

BTW, there are sometimes debates in this ng about the difference between
"murder" and "kill" in one of the ten commandments. That debate, AFAIK,
is moot in French. The bible use "tuer" (kill). The closest verb we have
to "murder" is "assassiner", which is, amusingly, a word of arab origin.

into pieces, no one would think I was talking about
the accidental taking of a life and books like Strong's
are readily available and so is free software and web
sites to look all of this stuff up.

I'm not criticizing you personally. I know that you
were just mentioning that there is a debate going on.

Oh... Look at, Dave. Purveyor of religious definitions and
malarkey.

The GOD OF LOVE actually has different meanings for killing that
mean different things and all revolve around PERFECT LOVE.

In other words, you have no specific point to make.
The discussion was about a specific word in a specific
passage, but you knew that and figured you'd be an
idiot and try to antagonize people anyway.

Goodbye.

The point is as clear as the one on your head, Dave. Your god kills
and has different 'meanings' for it. That's like saying, 'I didn't
rape you because I loved you while I was doing it.'
When are you going to wake up and stop making excuses for the
monster you love? You're like Bush spinning Freedom and Iraq in the
same sentence.
I'll wake up tomorrow and I'll still be fine and you'll still be an
idiot.

The Hebrew word means literally, "to dash in pieces"
and it implies an act of malice. To murder. There
should be no confusion, except that which people, in
their vain attempts to try to free themselves from God
make up. If I said that I killed him by dashing him
into pieces, no one would think I was talking about
the accidental taking of a life and books like Strong's

Once upon a time in alt.atheism, dear sweet Pastor Dave (1newsgroupmail1
@tampabay.rr.com) made the light shine upon us with this:

BTW, there are sometimes debates in this ng about the difference between
"murder" and "kill" in one of the ten commandments. That debate, AFAIK,
is moot in French. The bible use "tuer" (kill). The closest verb we have
to "murder" is "assassiner", which is, amusingly, a word of arab origin.

and it implies an act of malice. To murder.

Sounds pretty specific to me, Dave. The laws of human society are not so
specific. If you kill someone, you'd better have a very specific and legal
reason to do so, such as self defense. Otherwise you face a nasty trial,
and and equally nasty punishment if justice is done. Your god, on the
other hand, and according to Pastor Dave, only punishes murderers who have
dashed someone in pieces. In other words, if you've blown their head off
with a 12-gauge, welcome to heaven.
