Object: It has begun...
The Xmess season is upon us.
It is with a heavy heart that I report hearing the first Xmess song of the
season this morning at 7:56 local time.
So begins two months of hearing 15 different takes on "Jingle Bells" in an
8-hour period.
Be afraid.
Be very afraid.

Ah well, we're doing a grab bag for the kids this year, so I only have to
buy one really nice present as opposed to 9 decent ones, so I'm actually
going to enjoy Xmas this year. Woohoo!

Not here in Philly. Usually, the first Christmas record
(cd) ad is on tv by the end of August. Haven't seen
one yet. Maybe I've just been lucky and missed them.

There is a Holiday Park, just down the road.
It closed at the end of the second week in October.
By the end of the third week, their Xmas tree was up, and they wont
have any guests to see it, until the 21st of December.

When I still played the violin (in public), that was always one of my

Oh dear, I guess :)

I'd rather hear a Sinatra-type singing my take on an Xmess carol (has it
already been a year?!):
IT'S THE MOST OVERBLOWN TIME OF THE YEAR
(Waltz time)
VERSE 1:
It's the most overblown time of the year
With the christers all preaching and whining and screeching
And full of false cheeeeer...
It's the most overblown tiiime...of the year.
VERSE 2:
It's the slap-happiest season of all
With those grumpy old fuckers demanding we succor
Their worshipful thrall
It's the slap-happiest season of all.
BRIDGE:
The Rightards are claiming that christmas we're maiming,
By saying 'Happy holidays"
These fucked-up hysterics are partnered with clerics
Who want everything their own way.
VERSE 3:
It's the most overblown time of the year
They say they're inclusive but then turn abusive
If you're not in their sphere!
It's the most overblown time--
It's the most overblown time--
It's the most overblown time...of the year!

I must confess that I have Josh Groban singing "Oh Holy Night" on my
MP3.

I must confess I've always loved to hear my mom sing that song....

but now that I have the South Park version with Eric Cartman singing
it, it will never be the same

I have not heard it, but the mere thought of it send shudders through
me.

The Cartman version is a riot!

Afraid?
Why?
Any fear that the sun will go away indefinitly
and that by december 25, the day will not have grown longer?
Are we doc Saveass now?
The comercialization of an ancient astronomical holy day,
turned into the birthday of someone who's real birthday is unknown,
is a bit irritating. But we will survive!
Even got some new balls for the Christmas tree (for free)
but I don't know if Kesinee want's me to pu it up.
Last year she didn't want me to at first,
but the days grew so short, that she wanted the little lights in the
tree to much.
Day and night heardly change there length in Thailand,
so de dark days before Christmas, might be moore frightening to her
then to me:)

I'm just remembering my days with an inventory company; we would count
the major (in America, at least) department, grocery, and home
improvement stores. Imagine being stuck in one spot, trying to
concentrate on your job, with a speaker right over your head blaring
"FROOOOOOSSSSTTYYYYYYY, THE SNOOOWMANNNNN...."
There's good reason for me to reallly realllly dislike that racket ;)

Am I happy to live in a place where about nobody knows what that song
sounds like. If it gets you still stimulated to display anxiety on the
internet it must be a "blessing" How many accomplises would frosty
need to terrorize the whole nation:-) ?

A few years ago I heard an all-cats version of "Silent
Night." Very weird.
Still, I thought my cats might find it interesting, so
I got a copy and played it for my furry friends. They
freaked out! All of them ran around half mad and
utterly distraught. They couldn't locate the cats
making the noises, which for a cat seems to be the
equivalent of The Amityville Horror.
