Object: It is absolutely stunning...............
...............in that the average atheist lacks minimal grasp of the beliefs of
others of the existence of Almighty God, and of his becoming man in the person
of Jesus Christ to die on the Cross for the redemption of man from his sins and
to **restore** salvation to the souls of mankind.
The average atheist is rock bottom is that very basic understanding and yet runs
around rejecting the existence of almighty God. On what basis?
Atheists lack even the basic rudiments of knowledge of God, yet carry on to
untold lengths with total lack of supportive evidence for his beliefs.

Of course atheists understand why you believe in the existence of Almighty
God.
Some of us even used to believe it in ourselves.
And Santa too.

The average atheist is rock bottom is that very basic understanding and
yet runs
around rejecting the existence of almighty God. On what basis?

Your premise is false.
We are not at rock bottom when it comes to understanding why you believe in
a god or gods.
I also understand why my five year old believes in Santa and the Tooth
Fairy.
Two basic reasons
1. We told her that they exist and are real
2. She wants to believe they exist and are real
Your beliefs are no more or less valid than hers.

Atheists lack even the basic rudiments of knowledge of God, yet carry on
to
untold lengths with total lack of supportive evidence for his beliefs.

I've noticed that the atheists in this group tend to seem far more well
versed in the Bible and religious history than most of the believers who
post here, so once again you are wrong.

Stunning.

Yes, it is.

On the contrary, atheists are well aware of the beliefs of theists. To
the point of being burnt at the stake by them in fact.

, and of his
becoming man in the person of Jesus Christ to die on the Cross for the
redemption of man from his sins and to **restore** salvation to the
souls of mankind.

Ah, that subset of theists who call themselves Christians.

The average atheist is rock bottom is that very basic understanding
and yet runs around rejecting the existence of almighty God. On what
basis?

Lack of evidence. You're the one making the claim that a god exists, its
up to you to give evidence that we can study objectively. If you can't do
that, we have no reason to consider your claims further, in the same way
you probably reject the Greek pantheon of gods because no-one has ever
shown you evidence that they exist.

Atheists lack even the basic rudiments of knowledge of God, yet carry
on to untold lengths with total lack of supportive evidence for his
beliefs.

You'll notice that even among the theists, there is no agreement about
what 'god' is. There are 1000's of sects of Christians, who can't even
agree on fundamentals of the entity they believe in.
You'd think that if the existence of god was as clear as you like to
pretend it is, that there would be more agreement between these sects?
In fact, if gods existence was that obvious, you'd only expect one,
religion, and everyone to be a member. God would be as matter of fact as
the earth beneath your feet.

Yes, it is the very basis of Christianity, or didn't you know. Of

I'm well aware of its importance to Christians. I see it as being
irrelevent to the nature of reality in general.

No. As an atheist, I claim to lack belief in gods. That is a different
statement to "god does not exist", but I do not speak for all atheists,

Wrong, p_b. We are not judged for what our ancestors did, but for what we do.
Original sin is ours, not our ancestors. We are born with the sin nature as
demonstrated by A&E. We are baptized into the Body of Christ.
You're flunking religion badly, berry. You better do some more study before you
take on the learned.

Wrong. God condemns entire nations in the OT, and makes it clear that
your great-great-great-great-great-grandfather's sin would still be
your fault. So if you had an ancestor who sinned against god in 1700,
you're screwed.

Earl, I'm getting tired of giving you Bible lessons.
Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:
for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the
fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them
that hate me;

Original sin is ours, not our ancestors. We are born with the sin nature as
demonstrated by A&E. We are baptized into the Body of Christ.

LOL!

So, we're not judged for what our ancestors did, but we have original
sin for what A&E did? Are A&E our ancestors?

Well, that figures - according to the Eastern orthodox church, it is *you*
(the Catholics) who are being deceived by Satan!

Where?
