IT'S A MATTER OF CHOICE, STUPID |
The biggest issues of the day surrounds a matter of choice.
Who chooses for whom. Should the government be in the
business of choice? Should the government be in the business
of telling what choice in your consenting personal life you
can make? Should the government be in the business of telling
a black they cannot marry a white, the US Supreme Court said no.
There are those who would yell same sex marriage is not based
on a born characteristic as race, it is based on a "behavior
characteristic" as Colin Powell said. One then must be reminded
a gay can marry a lesbian, their sexual "behavior characteristic"
has nothing to do with it, only their sexual organs they
were born with decides who can or cannot marry, exactly the same
as what race a black was born with. In this case a hermaphrodite
has no choice, they cannot legally marry at all. A hermaphrodite
has both sexual organs they do not fall neatly into either
dichotomy of man nor woman, who do they legally marry if the
only legal marriage is between a man and a woman?
Yes, it is a matter of choice, stupid! Whether the USA will be
lead down a path backward by Bush Ashcroft and Cheney (BAC)
to the good old boy days where blacks were put in their place,
women were barefoot and pregnant to full term, and gays were
locked up. Do we want to go BAC to a country of intolerance
or forward to a more enlightened era and administration. After
this administration is done will there be any choices left?
Do we really want ot go BAC?
Good old boy Georgia Bush and the conservatives pack that
follow him, like a feral pack of wolves after personal
choices, wants to decree by old King George, that marriage
is only between a man and a woman. Old King George up
there on his old plantation wants to turn BAC time and head
into past. Old King George want to make the choice for you
who you can marry or not. Old King George knows best, like
some whining grandmother telling you who you can marry.
Yes, old King George is smarter than you, he know who your
choice should be, and it involves someone white, the
opposite sex, a member of an exclusive country club (that
don't allows gays), of well breading, and in the oil business.
To keep those blacks, women, and gays in their place on their
oil plantations.
Old King George and his conservative back woods good old
boys wants to change that old Constitution to better reflect
their views on the world. Old King George wants to trash
those nasty old rights in 9th and 14th Amendments that stand
in the good old boys way of turning BAC time to the Good Old
Boy days.
Yes, that "All Inclusive Party" is sure looking a lot like a
"All Are Welcomed" sign at a KKK rally.

What is the scientific evidence that homosexuality is genetic ?
What is the scientific evidence that left handedness is genetic ?
It is irrelevant, nothing in the law has anything to do with sexual
orientation, it is based solely on the sexual organs one is born
with, the very same as the race blacks are born with. After all
a gay can marry a lesbian. Only the sexual organs they are
born with are the deciding factor.
What is the scientific evidence that homosexuality is NOT genetic ?
What is the scientific evidence that left handedness is NOT genetic ?
We don't understand the brain yet nor the influences genetics play.
At the end of the day, the entire debate has to turn to genetic scientists for their guidance.
No it has not, only in your lots minds, it is irrelevant in the law, others
like to include irrelevant issues into the equation, as AIDS, choice,
genetics and the bible. None of which are relevant to the ban on
marriage, only the sexual organs are banned, they have to be the
opposite sexual organs, and hermaphrodites cannot pass this test.

And that is the real crux of the argument. We're all getting off on so many
different tangents that we have forgotten what is the core issue being
discussed...ultimate authority.
Who has the ultimate authority to decide who gets married to whom? There are
two schools of thought. One school of thought believes that the individuals
concerned have that ultimate authority. The opposing school of thought believes
that the government has that ultimate authority and can deny freedom of
association to whoever it wishes for whatever reason it wishes. The first is a
characteristic of a free nation. The second is a characteristic of despotism.
In the end it's not a question of religion at all. Its the difference between
upholding the freedoms of the individuals and the authority of the state to
coerce. I, for one, will always side with the rights of the individuals against
the tyranny of the State. Our founding fathers did too.

I see no reason why it should matter, as far as a legal right to marry
is concerned, whether homosexuality is genetic or not. Perhaps there
should be no freedom of religion. After all there is a great deal of
evidence that says it is a chosen behavior.
