It's Almost That Time Of The Year Again..... |
It's nearly time for the....
FIFTH ANNUAL "PUT YOUR DOGMA ON A LEASH" AWARD FOR
THE LOONY THEIST OF THE YEAR
Yes....every year during December we can relieve our frustration with
religious idiocy by holding a poll of Usenet atheists of who they think has
proven through out the year they are the very pinacle of God drooling
insanity...and hasn't it been a bumper year. Not since a pack of Islamic
fundamentalist thought that mass murder and acts of radical urban
redevelopement would actually make people think that fundamentalist Islam
was the preferable religious choice...and well I guess they were right
judging by the rise in Muslem extremism in the world....have we had a year
when theistic fundamentalism has grown from little flares of insanity to a
blanket of deranged fire, like napalm spreading across the world. So it's
only right that we recognize those who have stood out in the insane theist
community.
Nominations begin on the 1st of December. I put up the first three nominees
and any atheist in any of the usenet godless groups may nominate someone in
any of the catagories until Xmas day. On boxing day I pick the best five
from all the nominees in each catagory and voting starts and continues until
the end of the year. The winners will be announced in the first week of
January. All nominees must be theists..not just religious loonys. Last
year the Raelians received heavy voting, but technically they aren't theists
so this year they won't be nominated.
*Boatwright clause* Each year our most famous idiot tries to nominate
himself and then claims that the FAQ (what FAQ?) says that he is
disqualified for nominating himself.
a. Only atheists, agnostics and godless people can nominate so Boatwright
can't nominate at all
b. Since the nominators must be atheists and nominees must be theists NO ONE
can nominate themself
c. I make all the judgements on who can be nominated...not Boatwright
OK.....here are the first four catagories and as is traditional I add a new
catagory each year.
THE USENET LOONY OF THE YEAR
for theist posters and trolls who come into the godless groups to attack,
condemn and convert us.
THE REAL LIFE LOONY THEIST OF THE YEAR
for people out there in the "real world" who have caught the world's
attention with their theistic insanity
THE LOONY THEIST GROUP OR ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR
for those who's loony whole is greater than the sum of their loony parts
THE LOONY THEIST EVENT OF THE YEAR
for acts of religious insanity that have scarred and scared the world in the
last year
AND....THIS YEAR'S NEW CATAGORY...
.....I'll tell you when nominations start. It's a bit different than
usual...but it's something that has been suggested a few times in the past!
Ok..so get your thinking caps fired up and get ready to spread the love!

Speaking of Bloaty, I haven't seen him, Pester Dave or Pester Frank in here
(talk.atheism) recently. Did hell freeze over and they're actually gone or
is it just a dry spell while they come up with more garbage?
