Brilliant. Reads an article which plainly discredits his position, and then
he posts it in support of his position.
Absolutely priceless.

It *is* grand to see the great minds of creationism at their full power, isn't it.

Did you even READ the article? It doesn't support any kind of creationist
argument. I think you're really not a creationist, but are just masquerading
as one.

I've long thought that Ramond Ambrosini is really an anti-Christian,
posing as a Christian to make the rest of us look bad.

I've often thought the same about "Pastor" Frank.

Charlottesville, VA, is home to the University of Virginia and Thomas
Jefferson's Monticello.
The article mentions a City Council candidate Ann Reinicke: "... she
would consider teaching in schools the theory that a higher power
created the world. She elaborated in an e-mail Thursday but did not
return repeated telephone calls to clarify whether she thought
creationism belonged in civics class or science class."
"University of Virginia scientist Clive Bradbeer directed the question
to Reinicke ... “It sounds sort of even-handed” to teach
creationism alongside evolution, Bradbeer said. “But creationism
is not science. It’s a religious belief. That’s not
something that should be part of a public school teaching.”"
That was April 22.
On May 4, she LOST THE ELECTION, coming in 4th out of 5 candidates.
Thanks Painful - good example.

Oh this is beyond funny!
- Virginia is a relatively conservative state (*not* lunatic fringe). Even the democrats here are conservative.
- Virginia is also a relatively affluent state. (Note the correlation between "affluent" and "educated.") Drive up I-81 through the
Shenandoah Valley some time and you’ll pass more colleges and universities than you can shake a stick at.
- Even when you get "out the other side" of the Shenandoah into the mountains (yes, coal mining country) the folks out there are wary of
"them city fellers with their newfangled ideas." They have a lot of common sense, can smell a ***** artist a mile away, and are
merciless to any idea that smacks of ignorance.
- Charlottesville is the home of the University of Virginia, one of the best schools in the country (and very competitive to get into)
and one of the best medical schools in the country (yes, they have some nodding familiarity with biology!)
- Charlottesville also prides itself as the home of Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence, and one of the most
renown thinkers of his day.
Given the above environment, anybody running for office (*in Charlottesville* of all places!) who supports putting Creationism into a
*science* classroom deserves to lose the election just for their pure political stupidity, if nothing else.
And no, we don’t drink "water" - we drink "wadder." Deal with it.
Painful Tooth - I thank you for the entertainment. :-D

[snip long sig]
Quoting (selectively of course) from the article:
"But creationism is not science. It's a religious belief. That's not
something that should be part of a public school teaching."
